WHAT A RACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Drive of a champion and he truly deserves it. Jenson Button world champion, sounds ace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus I'm 200 quid richer!!! (but in all honesty I'd have forfeited my bet to see Jens clinch the title).

I certainly think Jenson bottled it half way through the season but he held his shaky nerve and got the big prize, I always thought he could do it so I'll take credit for his victory :)

Even if he hadn't won it you'd have to give him special mention for being a hell of an overtaker now ( is that a word), Who's that mad weaving japanese fella????

Excellent drive today, a worthy champion. I guess his odds were pretty long before the first race? IOW a few people have become very wealthy?

I think that if Button had won his 6 victories at the second half of the season, people would be saying another thing....

Exactly! People seem to have forgotten about those.

But he didn't. He won them at the beginning of the season when his car was dominant. If he'd won 6 races in the latter half of the season, when there were more cars equal to the Brawn, then I'd be willing to praise him a little more.

But there's no difference if somebody wins at the beginning or at the end of the season.
Whenever the driver wins, it probably will be due to the best car.

Usually there's some competition. Brawn were so good (or their rivals so bad) at the beginning of the season, meaning there was very little of that.

No its usualy a combination of the best driver in the best car.

If you stuck Piquet and Badour in the Brawn they wouldn't be WCC or WDCs. Red Bull, Mclaren or Ferrari would.

Button is an Above average driver in the best car in the field by nearly a whole second (going of oz quali)

If the cars were more equal the driver would come into play and then he would get shown up by the likes of Kimi, Lewis, and Alonso. But thats what F1 is about Best car + best Driver and therfore button is the rightful champion of 2009.

But this doesn't mean he's the best driver of 2009. - I'd give that to Lewis or Kimi.
