Considering that Red Bull only had to pay $50,000 earlier in the season for Vettel driving about with a wheel on the nose of his car, Renault's fine doesn't seem completely out of place. The problem is more to do with the rules: nowadays, $50,000 is too low for even the smallest Formula One teams. Anyway, it's good to hear that Renault have won their appeal. Although they did wrong, the initial punishment was well beyond the pale.

I look forward to every F1 race no matter what as I dont dislike any track.

Now back to Renault winning their appeal I'm happy for the team's fans. I'm also happy that the team admitted thier wrong doing and now we can all move on, happy racing for everyone!!!

You won't be saying that once the first lap finishes and the field is spreading out quicker than a hot knife through butter...

You should hope that Alonso doesn't get hit by Kazuki again ;). Actually I'll be hoping they don't crash again too, Kazuki REALLY needs to start bringing in the points, no matter how much praise he gets from Sir Frank and Sam Michael.

The fine seems fair enough to me. Anyone freaking out over a wheel coming adrift obviously doesn't watch any other racing other than F1. Wheels come off of race cars. It happens. Want that to change? Then get on your soap box and lobby for multiple lug nuts (nascar) rather than one center nut. One point of failure means a higher percentage of incidents. We've also seen many many drivers circulate the track with a tire flat and coming off the rim. What do you think that tire will do to someone's head if it comes off the rim and rolls in front of an F1 car? I don't see anyone calling for an immediate firing squad if someone drives a flat around the track back to the pits. This is racing folks, not your sunday stroll down to the pub. Any punishment at all is a bit ridiculous but with a death so fresh in everyone's minds....it is understandable. Race on.
