Yeh but senna has sponsors?

Yup, just imo he doesn't need to be a pay driver because he's actually very good compared to some drivers who fit the criteria here, and i reckon he's got options elsewhere, if you get me. :)

Plus USF1 would be a bit stupid to turn down his services, pay driver or not!

Didn't USF1 just get investment from the Youtube guy? I know it's off topic, but why would they want paydrivers anyways? They seem to have a strong business plan as it is.

And Best Buy as well, apparently.

What does GP2 have to do with my reply? I'm only stating what I heard.

Because that's the question I asked
Peter Windsor was talking about GP2 winners, not just anyone who's been linked with the team.

Not from the interview I watched.

Because that is the question you asked, were is the relevance?
See I can do that also, maybe not for much longer but I dont care.

That makes no sense. Sorry - next time you post something on this forum, I'll answer something totally different and irrelevant as relevance doesn't matter?

You must have seen a different show than I did regarding him talking about GP2 drivers because that was NOT part of the conversation I watched.

Perhaps next time you should read the article in question then? I was talking about an article I'd read, not a TV show I'd seen.

Back on topic: Agree with Scotty over Senna. I think it's only a matter of time before we see him in F1 anyway so I wouldn't have thought he would have needed to pay to get into the sport.

GP2 race winning drivers ehh.

So it likely could've been
Vitaly Petrov
Karun Chandhok
Bruno Senna
Kamui Koybashi
Javier Villa
Lucas Di Grassi
Nico Hulkenburg

He mentioned that said drivers had massive sponsorship they could bring from their home country. So that applies to pretty much all the drivers I listed there, except Di Grassi.

F1Fantatic believes that is was Senna or Chandhok. However any on that list would apply as pay-drivers.

I'd love to see Pastor Maldonado in F1, he's a complete nutter!

Yes, F1 is lacking someone like that since Piquet got the boot.

i reckon one of the guys peter is talking about is Senna then.

I think Maldonado might be the fastest driver in GP2, possibly ever on pure raw pace so he could be genuinely exciting in F1. He just has no self control, he goes faster and faster til he falls off.

Yep everything Piquet couldn't do.

What I find interesting about USF1 is that they are more prepared to talk to the media about their team.

Why have we only heard whispers about Campos and Manor? Especially over sponsors and driver lineups?

i think that's probably because USF1 are a publicity stunt and Campos and Manor are race teams. I dunno, it's all weird to me, I can't even figure out what the hell Manor are doing in F1

One of the offers has to be Senna, but Bernie could be the one paying. Remember Bernie said he would offer money to get Senna an F1 seat.

As for the other candidate, I would hazard a guess that it would be either Petrov or Di Grassi. It won't be Hulkenberg because Willi Weber is trying to get him shoved into a Williams seat, and (for obvious reasons) it won't be Grosjean either.

Peter Windsor will have some pretty tough decisions to make, if the USGP car is as good as he says so, he'll want a good driver to try and put it towards the top of the field. But at the same time the team wants American drivers, but it doesn't look like there are many about who could put the car at the top of the F1 pack right now (maybe except Danica... :cloud9: ... joking :P).
