I thought Webber's penalty was ok, he did effectively crash into him on purpose. Kimi's situation was different but i get p*ssed off with all this 'we'll investigate it after the race stuff'. It's as if they don't want to give a proper penalty in the event that they find something wrong. They shouldn't be allowed to decide to do that. Either all incidents should be looked at after the race or none.

Kimmi should of got a penalty in the race.
The incident will be looked at after the race
there were 59 laps left.
pleantly of time to look into it and make a conclusion i thought the rules were that only happened after there was not enough time left when hamilton was penalized wrongly at spa last year

I think all it boils down to is they change stewarding at each race, what they need is permanent professional stewards to attend every race so there is consistent ruling!

Agreed. Stewards with racing experience, too, would be welcome.

Neither incident warranted a penalty, however today it was more a simple first-corner racing incident than the one in Germany. The German stewards had been dishing out heavy penalties all weekend, so...

Some weekends the stewarts they hire are more pathetic and clueless than the last weekend. What can you do.

We can only pray the eventually they get rid of these twats ruining the sport, and let professionals run the sport, not armchair experts.

The stewards are horrible every week it seems. Even if they assembled a permanent crew instead of temporary stewards every week, there doesn't seem to be enough well trained stewards to really make much difference. It would only be the same idiots making poor judgments instead of different ones every week. I guess maybe with some practice they could improve, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting.

Let me say first that I didnt think Webber warrented a penalty last race.
But he got a drive through.
Kimmi did the same move on Hamilton- I also dont think it warrented a penalty. Neither were intentional and both were racing incidents.
So why was Webber given a drive through and Kimi not investigated until after the race?? And as far as I know no penalty.
I know the stewards are crap but surely they can try to be consistantly crap?

I think the answer is that the stewards are crap. Why didn't Red Bull or Webber get some kind of penalty or censure for that boneheaded and dangerous move in the pits?

Webber had a penalty and Raikenen not....why....simple.....one was in a Ferrari

Hardly likely since the FIA hates Ferrari now. And if it was a pro-Ferrari bias, Webber would have been given a penalty for getting in the way of a Ferrari. Nope, just plain simple stupidity and incompetence.

Well, if it was just inconsistence, than I cant wait, how will the penalties look like, when Todt will be the boss of FIA... The stewards are judging simple racing accidents like big enforcements against the rules, and vice versa, just depends, what team and driver is it. Just wondering if Williams has some protection :D

Just wondering if Williams has some protection :D
Maybe they have this?

Larger size to cover the whole car I suppose :D But the point was, that Williams was the first team to sign in to the new season with the money being cut down.

Williams having FIA protection will never happen, they have a bit of history being plagued by FIA decisions just because they failed to sign the concorde agreement back in 1997 along with McLaren and Tyrrell.

If Williams did have FIA protection, Kimi and/or Webber would have been penalised allowing Nico to take his first podium of the season. I'd rather Nico get it on merit.

But once again a shocking performance from the stewards, why can't they decide things during the race and not have us wait until hours after the race (unless something arises from post-race scrutineering)? It's ridiculous, and that is an understatement.

One thing the stewards have been consistenly failing to do is at least summoning Hamilton for his turn 1 antics.
He's made a habit of diving head first and reckelessly into turn one, whenever he's not on front row, disregarding and putting into risk the other drivers' AND his own race.

Now, im saying he deserves a WARNING. Dont make anything more of it now....

Webber's drive through was reasonable. Kimi's incidents have mostly been some driver going over aggressive and bumping into him, defending his position rather than him doing something reckless to endarger other drivers.

Renault's penalty is somewhat understandable, although a bit harsh... but then they should have also penalised Kimi in Magny Cours and any other driver getting to the pits with a damaged car, which happens very often. One problem i see with ex-drivers being stewards is that i doubt many ex drivers would be interested in the hard work of stewarding the whole season...

.

:yikes: Hamilton has been punished for a first corner incident.(Incorrectly in my view) He's done nothing recently that warrants a Warning!! Are you referring to him using KERS??
