I would not like to see Schumacher make a shotgun return. It would cheapen his reputation. Lauda is correct about one thing, though: Ferrari's test drivers aren't up to the task.

that ought to make the Alonso transfer look that much better, assuming all the Alonso-Ferrari rumors are true...

maybe a tribute race for Felipe by wearing an overall bearing his name? that might touch the hearts of all F1 fans

I disagree. I think Gené would do a solid-enough job. The only other option that Ferrari have is Bourdais and I don't think that they would go for that. At least Badoer and Gené have driven the F60. Anyone they could promote from GP2, F2 or a young driver programme would have no experience at all. Lauda's comments about Gené and Badoer are also somewhat harsh - neither of them are useless...

I can't imagine them going for Sebastien Bourdais. Saying that Alonso would fill in are silly, Renault would never go for it.

Mika Salo had lost a drive. Who left F1 at the end of last year? David Coulthard. Can't see that happening either. But if you look at last year's results, the highest scoring driver who currently doesn't have a drive - it's Coulthard.

If they're going to bring in someone new, giving a rookie a chance, who could it be? Giorgio Pantano?

Personally I predict it will be Gene.

I want Bourdais, then he'll get next season's seat, instead of both Vettel and Alonso

Really? I'd take Bourdais over Pantano... :S

Pantano's the reigning champion in GF2 or whatever they're calling it these days.

Having watched the 2008 GP2 season (and those prior to it), that's not really saying much. It took Pantano four years to reach that stage and even in his championship-winning year, he was only average. :/

Then again, anybody that Ferrari can choose would not be the best choice. There is currently nobody available that would be as good as Massa is, but I feel that Gené should be the one to get the seat.

Ferrair should alternate between Bourdais and Piquet.
Give them a chance.

Piquet? That is a hell of a risk. Somebody with so little experience, who is just recently thrown out of a F1 team, thats not for Ferrari. Bourdais was also thrown out though... but he has more experience, but not with F1 though.

How about Mr. Chubby?

what the michallin man?

i doubt he'd be able to fit in the car, they'd have to do a Mclaren when Mansell joined and widen it.

There not going to do that for two or three races.
