Well as I stated above, if they pass a massive race or fanancial penalty against McLaren, I really want McLaren to pull out of the season immediately. This has turned into a circus.

Even if it turns out that numerous members of McLaren's senior management (including Whitmarsh, for example) were involved?

are you suggesting every person or driver in the history of F1 has never lied to benefit themselves at some point?

No, I am not.

However, when you get caught lying (and I mean, with undeniable evidence) then of course you're going to take the punishment. It would be interesting to see whether or not Dave Ryan actually turns up.

McLaren not appearing at the Spanish GP would be a pretty big deal. But McLaren not appearing at the Monaco, would be monumental damage to the team and it's sponsors. And thats exactly why I think they won't ban McLaren.

There is very well grounds to ban McLaren from races, but they won't simply for the good of the sport. In 2007 with the spy-gate, McLaren were banned from the constructors championship. A lot of people question why they weren't banned from the drivers championship as well. It's simple, because otherwise there would be no more battle for the championship and that would be extremely damaging to the sport.

McLaren one of the biggest names in F1. Lewis the same. Together they attract a massive audience of viewers. It would be very un-wise to ban them from a race. But from the Monaco GP, there'd be an up-roar. The biggest event on the calendar, without the biggest team on the grid. Even the FIA can see the madness.

If it transpires it was just Davey and Lewis, then let sleeping dogs lie, they paid the price after Australia. To add further race or financial penalty's would be further damaging the sport. I maintain, if that does happen, I would dearly wish that McLaren completely pull out of F1. I would still watch the races, I'm not just interested in the fortunes of my team.

I want to know whether or not he thinks that it would be fair to punish the team further if it turns out they lied again about who knew what. Remember Spygate? Things got far worse for McLaren after it was revealed that there were more people involved than first let on. Essentially, they would have been caught lying to officials for the second time. They have been punished for the first offence, but this would be a new one.

again do you think McLaren is the first team to lie to cover a bad situation? hell are they the first business to do so? i dont understand why people get riled up if McLaren acted this way when in fact its common practice! for example do you believe that Ferrari Michael etc werent lying about Monaco 06?
maybe McLaren should just hire priests to run the team to appease you lot

No. I believe fully that Ferrari and Michael lied about Monaco. But their lie was not uncovered in the way that McLaren's was.

Don't take this as an anti-McLaren thing, I'd be on any team's case if they were in McLaren's place. The crucial thing here, though, is that they are not. ;)

I know they lied and i dont care how high up it went. They got DQ from the race that should have been the end of it. maybe they tried to cover it up? like i said thats normal in a scandalous situation. (Bill Clinton - I did not have sexual relations with that woman)

but youre wrong about it not being a McLaren thing, the reason being if it were another team there wouldnt be any Extraordinary (I love their use of that word) WMSC :D

Why don't you care how high up it went? Surely the higher it goes and the more people that are involved, the worse it is..? I'd certainly be somewhat concerned if it was the case at my team. I don't see how I could not be.
