I just don't care anymore.

Thank You for sharing, But I expected something a little more creative from you.

I'm sorry, I'll think of a better answer.

Fire them!

Not to sure the sponsors would like that so much

I don't think the sponsors would like having their name associated with a team and/or driver who has been accused of, and found to be, cheating; a team and/or driver who has had their name dragged through the mud.

Do you believe the sponsors are happy about being affiliated with a team now wrapped up in another management/lying scandal? Have you read the comments from Mercedes?

I own a company and a run an amateur race team (my fourth - first boats, then motocross, motorcycles, and for the last decade GT-3 cars) and I can tell you both from being a sponsor and having been sponsored that someone giving you money/material or time does very much NOT like being wrapped up in ANY drama of ANY kind. They look on that money that they are investing as advertisement dollars or in Mercedes case, advertisement and development dollars. Either way, negative press is not likely appreciated. Therefore, I doubt very much that they are enjoying the current scandal any more than those of the past year or two and would probably very much appreciate it if the team started acting with a bit more integrity...even when not forced to by the FIA.

Ok there are two versions of what I'd do.

#1
I'd keep tight lipped from the media and say nothing until I had a frank meeting with both the driver and sporting director. I would get them to explain the situation and be frank that if they had lied they would have face serious consequences from both the team and Governing Body. Straight away i'd then be on the phone to my shareholders, partners (any heirarchy) explaining the situation and making sure they had my trust. (Their advice would also be welcomed) I would then hold a press conference where I would be honest about the situation and state that their would be an internal review to make sure such a catastrophe would ever happen again. During this press conference I would also reveal that the team had fully cooperated with the FIA and would aid them in their investigation. If the team were charged and found guilty then the driver and team member would be punished internally. Eg. Race Ban, fine, redundancy etc etc.
Then I would put it to the board to decide as to whether I could continue in my position.

I would lead them into the Motorhome and knee Cap the bar steward. Taking a golf club to any big headed family member who attempted to meddle in the affairs of the team.
I would then resign.

It would be worth it.
Then I'd just dig a tunnel and escape like Steve McQueen. Simple.
