Tyrrell F1.

Thats really not a bad idea. I love the idea actually. I mean, in a way the team is still Tyrrell. Okay its went through management changes and so on, but its still the team that started out in 1958. I mean, how cool would it actually be to have the name Tyrrell back on the feild.

I think bringing back old F1 names is a bad idea. Especially ones encompassed in tradition. It was the same when the Lotus Rumour was doing its rounds. They've had their history - don't ruin it by bringing back the marque and possibly doing terrible!

Hmm, very true. Its just the thinking that the team is still Tyrrell. Its just interesting thought, but I'd doubt Brawn would ever go ahead with it anyway. He would agree reviving an old name is indeed a bad.

Also, we haven't really had confirmation of this Ross Brawn deal come to think of it. Theres not really been anything official. We can only hope its not another rouse. I mean, Ross Brawn is clearly the best man to lead the team forwards.

On the 18 February, it was confirmed that Virgin Group had made a bid to buy the team.[13] However, the team was eventually saved by a management buy-out led by Honda Racing team principal Ross Brawn.[3] On the 25 February, the team's attorney registered the domains 'brawnracing.com' and 'brawnracing.co.uk', hinting at the possibility that the team might race under a new name. Bernie's sold the Brabham name so that's out & I can't see the Tyrrell family wanting to get involved unless cash changes hands so that's probably out too. Same goes for the Lotus name, ie, money would need to change hands & despite Max's best wishes I doubt his former partners want to be bothered seing March brought back form the dead.

Sadly I can't I see Ross Brawn being anything other than egotiscal enough to name it after himself despite, presumably, using everyody else's cash but his own for he deal.

As for comedy names that could never happen - F1UK, S&M GP, Spanky Motorsport

Well the majority of team owners do name the team after themselves. Its almost a traditional in F1, so it's understandable that Ross would name the team Brawn Racing.

Also, indeed, the domains brawnracing.com and brawnracing.co.uk are registered. Seems like the buyout is looking official. Though I'll wait till an announcement is made.

Theres another quick story here, basically saying the same thing. That the lawyer Caroline McGory has registed the domain names, and that she has been involved with various affair regarding BAR and Honda. (in Portuguese though)

www.fryf1.com &.co.uk come up as total blanks. As do fryracing.com & .co.uk & frygp.com / .co.uk

However whilst GP Teams not named after their founders( Lotus,Red Bull,Torro Rosso,Force India,Jaguar,Arrows,Shadow etc) are not the rule they still exist.
