According the tifosi, 99% of Formula One fans are Ferrari fans. Thankfully, that myth has been debunked.

That survey is a load of rubbish. It is just like the polls before a major political election. The poll favours a particular party or candiate for say prime minister and then the other party wins the election. That happens a lot. Totally irrelevant. That survey was probably conducted t most people of English speaking countries. Probably mostly in the UK. I bet if a lot of Italian fans took part it in the result would of been different. I have been to many Grand Prixs (Outside of Italy) and I have always seen more Ferrari tifosi. McLaren supporters a very small compared to Ferrari and that is a fact. There may be a lot of McLaren supporters on this forum but that is 0.00000001% of the worlds F1 supporters.

McLaren and Hamilton voted world's favourite

McLaren are the world's favourite Formula One team and 2008 World Champion Lewis Hamilton is the world's favourite driver, according to a survey.

The ING/F1 Racing Formula 1 survey polled nearly 70 000 fans in order to track the profiles, viewing habits and preferences of the average F1 fan.

When asked to name their favourite driver, the fans' verdict was overwhelming: Hamilton gained a massive 27 per cent of the votes. Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen was second with 17 per cent while Fernando Alonso picked up 12 per cent of the votes with Felipe Massa taking nine per cent.

"I think the standard of drivers currently racing in Formula One is higher than it's been for years so I'm humbled to have earned the fans' support," Hamilton is quoted on the McLaren website.

"Drivers like Kimi, Felipe, Fernando, Robert and myself have made the battles at the front probably the closest and most exciting they've ever been - and, more than anything, I hope that's what the fans enjoy the most.

"The icing on the cake is the popularity of the team. I know just how hard everyone at Vodafone McLaren Mercedes works - they've done an unbelievable job this year and every single member of the team deserves this honour."

McLaren emerged top in the team category with 29 per cent of the votes. They were followed by Ferrari (28), Renault (six) and Williams (six).

AKR won't like this.

I heard they found intelligent life forms on Mars.............................................. We all know that isn't real. Neither is the result of a survey that if repeated to another group of 70,000 F1 fans would most likely yield a different outcome.

Keep dreaming as McLaren have always been second rated to Ferrari and always will be. McLaren cars have no "Soul". Ferrari cars do. All the prestiage, history, passion, etc. McLaren may have some of this, but nothing compared to Ferrari, thus most motor enthusist will always go for Ferrari. Even if I were not Italian I would choose Ferrari over McLaren for this single reason. If Ferrari were not in F1 and say German Porsche were what Ferrari is instead I would go for Porsche as Porsche like Ferrari have "Soul". End of discussion.

This may be the case now with the Road Cars but not with F1 but there's going to be a new Mclaren supercar comming soon so we'll see what the motor enthusiast thinks then.

What are you talking about? The survey was international. To prove something scientifically, you take a sample of a particular group. This has been done here and the results speak for themselves. Deal with it, AKR.

What are you talking about? The survey was international. To prove something scientifically, you take a sample of a particular group. This has been done here and the results speak for themselves. Deal with it, AKR.

The servey is a frase and you know. Most F1 fans go for Ferrari and that is a fact so you can kiss my arse.
