good bye shanghai

:wavey:

At the possibility of only having a seventeen race calendar? And less if this financial crisis continues? I'd rather have a full calendar filled out with Shanghai and Magny-Cours than a really short season, to be honest.

There are plenty of good tracks around the world that would sell out in minutes if an F1 race was held there. But Bernie doesn't think like normal people

if Shanghai were dropped at the end of '09 and Canada were to return at the same point, that works out pretty well imo.

Best case scenario would be Donington and Silverstone both being on the 2010 calendar if Shanghai were dropped, and Canada making the '09 schedule! :D

Yeh on top of Canada theres always the need for a US GP lots of places want the F1

Normal

being approximately average or within certain limits in e.g. intelligence and development; "a perfectly normal child"; "of normal intelligence"; "the most normal person I've ever met"

South Africa, Mexico, Argentina, Moscow, India, dare I say Australia(?), South Korea (I'd like to see Hyundai in F1 in some role)...

There should be a race somewhere in Scandinavia, too. :)

Yeah, I was thinking of Finland when coming up with my list - simply because of all the good Finnish drivers and the great interest in motorsports up there in moose country. However, I doubt they'd be able to pull it off.

Come think of it, maybe they should combine forces and expertise with Russia and stage a race in St. Petersburg (instead of Moscow), which is just a stone-throw from Finland :)

I bloody hope so. Get rid of Bahrain too and Valencia. US, Canadian and *insert your personal preference here* Grand Prix instead. I'd like to see a race somewhere in Sweden or Finland - no sure of the level of tracks though. That'll do for a start.

Why Valencia? It's only had one race...

I'd like to see Formula 1 go here, but I'm not sure if the track would be up to it.

Because it's my personal preference Mr. Rolleyes and I don't like the circuit. Of course in 20 yrs time it might be held in the same regard as Spa but as of right now - meh for me.

Scuse the hell out of me for not sharing an opinion of yours.

It won't be as good as Spa in 20 years time. You know whether a track is good from the very first race and Valencia is a snooze fest.

The new Autódromo Internacional do Algarve looks pretty good in my opinion. The older Estoril is still a very good circuit.

Mika Hakkinen was correct, though, when he said that he wished the guy who designed Suzuka designed every circuit. (Hakkinen and Suzuka: :cloud9: )

This is true.

There are lots of circuits out there with character, but because of the strict safety standards of today, they're either unsuitable or would have to be modified to make them safe to race on. Of course, those modifications tend to detract from the overall character of the circuit.

Autodrom Most looks like a nice track, though I've never watched a race on it, so I don't know what its potential would be like. I also really like the layout of Jarama and Kyalami, but I don't know whether they could host a modern grand prix race. Same with the old track in Argentina, last visited by F1 in...1998, was it?

I am looking forward to seeing some racing at the new Algarve circuit, too. The GP2 finale should be interesting, to say the least. :)

Dump China, and bring back Hockenhiem(old), and some more of those old-school eropean track like Imola.
I think Valincia and Signapore should be given at least 3-5 seasons before we pass judgement on them.

shame about china / even it's a crap track/ china as a player nation should be amoung the other nation's.the bernie get's 40+ mil $$$/**** if you ask me.this out of this world$$ makes it impossible for the promotor's to recoup any profit.so ticket prices are out of the reach of average worker's pocket.same thing applies at canada/but with a twist/there, even though it 's always a full house/bernis sucks so much $$ as afee that they can't turn a profit.we need the average joe+family to be able to attend if they so desire in any country.malay's included.it all comes down to greed. now we have a situ where the banks have overwritten the future.time now to have f1 responable brand managers in charge of the sport.and non-perverted people in charge of the fia. burt.
