Ron has also said that Lewis can have the McLaren F1 LM supercar (only 5 made) that sits in the McLaren showroom . . . . but only if he wins the title twice more! So he must be planning staying around a little longer!

Well looks like Lewis Hamilton can dream on because he isn't going to win the title twice more. Massa and Kubica await their turn and Alonso is due for another as well. And by then Vettel will be ready for his turn as well. Maybe Lewis Hamilton can find another way to pursuade Ron Dennis to give him that car. Maybe the 2 should marry so then as husband and husband, Ron will have to give the car to his newly wedded husband Lewis Hamilton. :hehe::rofl::D

he is probably concerned that in the case of a Mercedes buy out the McLaren name will be lost.

That would be a fantastic outcome. :hehe: And if Ron Dennis did go, then Lewis Hamilton wouldn't feel so "Loyal" to McLaren and move on to perhaps somewhere better. Or maybe he will stay and race for a German team called Mercedes. :D:clap::thumbup:

So...
Massa 2009
Kubica 2010
Alonso 2011
Vettel 2012

Hamilton would still only be 27 by this stage, the same age Schumacher was when he joined Ferrari... Plenty of time for Lewis yet then!

I would also be very concerned about that and would be livid if it ever happened.

Mercedes goes back longer than McLaren, so they might as well call it Mercedes. :brolly:

Yes plenty of time for Lewis Hamilton to win some more titles after 2012 for Mercedes-Benz. :hehe:

By the way Vettel will be even younger than Lewis Hamilton by then. What of he wins like 5 titles after age 27 instead. That would mean nothing for Lewis Hamilton. :hehe:

No...

Merc have been in F1 BEFORE Mclaren but Mclaren have been in F1 alot lot lot lot lot longer.

:nono:

thats like saying Fiat have been around longer than Ferrari so we might aswell call it Fiat

The difference being of course, that Mercedes are just shareholders of McLaren and provide the team's engines. Ferrari, however, are owned outright by FIAT and are only successfully because of FIAT's cash. If FIAT stopped supping Ferrari, their success rate would drop like a lead balloon.

And what do I have that is in denial? That I know McLaren are really greater than Ferrari and I cannot admit it? I do not think so Chris......

I'm not suggesting one team is better than the other. All I'm trying to put across is that Ferrari are not the be all and end all of Formula One. If you really want my honest view, I think Lotus are the greatest Formula One team ever.
