It´s obvious that this happens when only one of the drivers have a theoretical possibility to win the championship BUT if both drivers have the smallest chance to fight for the title then I think it´s totally unaccepted(I think everyone knows what happened earlier this season with a silver colored car :bs: )

Give me a break this is a stupid rule that was created to stop Ferrari from making "Team Orders" look obvious when Schum. and Barich. were team mates. In your little world is the slower car supposed to hold up the faster team mate? That would only result with them hurting each other, Team Orders have been part of F1 from the Get Go, anyone who has followed F1 for more than 5 years should know this and you are trying to make an AntiMclaren statement when it is a non issue.

difference being Lewis was faster than Heikki, he actually passed him because he was lapping faster while Kimi had to slow right down so Massa could catch up and pass him.

This wasn't the case at all. Kimi was way faster than Massa during the entire race. Massa wasn't the faster car at all. He was behind Kimi because he was slower and he remained slower for the entire event. Therefore, it wasn't at all a situation of a slower car holding up a faster car. It was a situation of a guy with no chance at the championship being ahead of a guy with a real shot at it, and nothing more. Again, and I can't stress this enough, Massa was the slower teammate here. He wasn't being held up by Kimi at all.

To clarify, I'm not sitting here condemning the position swap. Team orders have always been part of F1 and the rule forbidding them is ridiculous. Ferrari shouldn't have to put on theatrics to make it appear that the pass was simply an issue of Massa managing to catch up with Kimi and pass him, and no other team in this situation should have to resort to theatrics either, whether it was McLaren, BMW, Red Bull, or whoever. We all knew the switch had to happen and we all knew it was going to happen, and it was the logical move to make, and there shouldn't be a rule prohibiting team orders for it.

I liked the comments about it while watching it on Speed. I got a few laughs from the sarcastic enthusiasm over Massa's miraculous overtaking.

Yeah, David Hobbs was right on it, wasn't he? And the others kept egging him on

I'm really looking forward to Brazil, I wonder what stunts Ferrari are going to pull out of the bag to wreck Lewis's chances. As I said elsewhere yesterday, Lewis has to show 100% race discipline as he did yesterday, and Alonso's got nothing to lose by shunting into Lewis on the first corner

Ive gone off Massa now...

Unless he does something amazing in the last race and lewis loses out, he wont have another chance in his life. But hes not driving life or death out there. Im not a fan of lewis either as hes a bit loose and should of won it by now as he has a far superior car but makes stupid mistakes that he will never learn from. Im not looking forward to the Lewis Mania in the UK :(

His car is not far superior, they're pretty equal. Tit for tat. Yes he makes errors, thats cos he always pushes to get the last ounce out of the car.

The only reason Massa is so close to Hamilton this year is because of perverse decisions in his favour by the race stewards. He will not and does not deserve to be World Champion this year, or in my opinion at any time in the future. Rock on Lewis. Bring it home for Britain.

but if hiekki was good, why is he only in 7th in the drivers champs? Lewis cant be so good that hes leading and outclassing his team mate, and faster on straights in equal cars, and be 50 or so points ahead of him.

I dont think theres equal status there tbh, McLaren are a 1 man team this year. but hey, if thats the way Ron wants it this year then thats his choice, but im sure McLaren fans would like some Constructors glory more..

The grid is tight this year that you only need to be a couple of tenths of a second off the pace and you find yourself back in fifth or somewhere. A lot of work has gone into solving Kovalainen's problems in the Technology Centre and bits of the car have been tweaked to suit his driving style more. As average as Kovalainen has been this season, he has had some poor luck as well, so that's, I don't know, fifteen points or something off his tally as well. Kovalainen has potential; everybody at McLaren and Kovalainen himself are doing their best to translate his qualifying speed into race pace. Although I would maybe have stuck de la Rosa in a race seat once it was becoming apparent Kovalainen was struggling, I still think that the Finn should be given the winter and the first quarter of next season to sort out his problems before McLaren look elsewhere.

I totally agree. and if things doesn't work out for him I think Rosberg would fit in at Mclaren and would create a great rivalry with himself and Leswis. Not to mention staying at Williams isn't doing his career much good rite now. As for Kimi's response in the post race interview for the Chinese GP...that was a classic F1 moment.

Do you mean that embarassing smile when asked about letting Massa through?

P.S, not that I'm biased, but Massa and kimi should be given a drive through at Brazil just for turning up :hehe:
