He's 12 years old... I'm sure he can write coherent English but kids like him talk "MSN" talk so go easy. Some kids can't even spell "engineer" at the age of 15...

Thank you and that is my opinion aswell. This is not a school forum for one's spelling to be judged because if the point trying to be made is clear then so be it. Frankly imho worrying about someone's spelling on an internet racing forum is just downright anal and a feable attempt at superiority.

Shall I offer PROOF of inept spelling even from our self proclaimed member's of superior knowledge and education or can we get back to the topic of this thread?

So it looks like the previous two posts were directed at me, so i'll just explain that it's nothing to do with being superior or whatever you think it is, and you can feel free to pick out my spelling errors, although that would surely make you the anal one who is making an attempt at superiority.

I couldn't understand who the guy was on about so i suggested he rephrased his post so it was more understandable to us idiots who don't understand 'MSN speak'. I wasn't being malicious, although i was being blunt. :P

Whilst on that topic Tex, you should see one of the forums I post on (which shall remain nameless). One time a member got the Spanish inquisition treatment just because he missed an apostrophe.

Anyway back on topic, if you're looking to become an engineer in the Motorsport world there are quite a few colleges these days that offer motorsport engineering courses. If you're looking to race, karting is your best option to get started with. It helps you to learn the basics, but not mandatory because I started competing in Motorsport this year doing 2 races in Formula Vee and I'm 23 with no karting experience at all.

Well I do aim to make it as a driver, but failing to be a driver is very very likely.. So I am planning on doing a Motorsports Management and Logistics course in 2 years time. the good thing is that I will have the oppertunity to drive the cars, so hopefully I might be extremely lucky.. and Someone might think I have talent... You never know!

to the person that suggested a small team do you know any plz ty

Not really - I haven't quite brought myself to the point where I'm willing to part with what little money I have and get in to the racing world. And I see the waiting time as an opportunity to improve on fitness first.

does anyone know the lowest form of formula, i'm wanting to be an f1 mechanic but need work experience, also has a nyone heard of the new superleague formula, where all cars are sponsored and wear the coulors of footy teams, the brits have liverpool and tottenham, but please answer my first point

Like bud said, technically karting. Formula Vee, I think, is the lowest category that actually has the word Formula in the name. I'm aiming to do what 7Up has already done and get in to that, albeit driving rather than engineering.

Last in both races, but finished. But on both occasions I had engine problems (low power in the first race and then misfiring badly at 6500 rpm in the second race) but wasn't badly off the pace at Donnington, but at Silverstone I'll admit I felt a little off colour in my second race at Silverstone.

How much does that cost for one race weekend? I'm assuming you get the opportunity to do a quali lap as well as just entering the race itself...
