Heikki is the reason why Ferrari will win the constructors championship. Thank God you don't have Alonso anymore otherwise things would of been looking grim right now for Ferrari.. By the way Bud I am great just like Ferrari and Vettel. :hehe:

actually if the appeal is won and the points are restored to what they really are and not the Ferrari International Assistance points scoring.
McLaren will be leading the constructors 133 to Ferrari 132 as well as the drivers Lewis 82 Felipe 75!

and lay off Heikki he has had alot of bad luck this year! people forget he is only in his second year as well and not every driver is on the same path to success! F1 is not easy!

He should be doing more though. F1 is not easy and it took Alonso a couple of years to get fully sorted but his talent was obvious. Heikki is a good driver but I don't see him winning a world title because I don't see the talent. It is sad to say it but he is born to be back up

I think the talent is all there. It's quite clear from qualifying that he can lap consistently fast even with a fair bit of fuel onboard. But he seems not to push as hard in the races. If he were to treat every lap as a flying qualifying lap, things could be different.

He has the raw speed required to challenge anybody, but the thing is that Formula One cars have become easier to drive since the early 1990s. As a result, most people can go pretty fast and you have to look at other things to see how good they are. For instance, how good is their race pace? How quickly can they adapt to changes in the car? How good are they at driving in the wet? To all of these, Kovalainen has demonstrated himself to be not good enough. In any case, he should have done more this season, certainly in the second part of it.

To be honest, that's sort of what I've been saying for a while now. Being fast is one thing, but being a good Grand Prix driver is another matter.

I have to disagree massively on the driving in the wet part. On Saturday, he set five consecutive fastest laps when it was raining hard. In Monaco he started from the pit lane but got himself in to the points. In Fuji last year he scored a second-place finish in horrible conditions, holding off Kimi in a lowly Renault. Go back as far as Nurburgring and, had he not had a comparatively poor strategy, he could have found himself on the podium instead of (the still rather good) eighth place.

I'd say that's good driving in the wet.

Have they? im not convinced of that im sure that the cars are just as much of a handful now as they were back then

In the late '80s and early '90s Formula One cars didn't have quite as much grip, no traction control (okay, we've got rid of it for this year) had no power steering, were turbocharged with almost twice the horsepower if you go back the mid '80s, and no semi-automatic or fully automatic gears. In some aspects, a Formula One car now is easier to drive than the Williams FW14B. I'm not saying driving a Formula One car is easy, but what I am saying is that it has become easier, and, as a result, we are seeing more guys who are very fast. The crème de la crop usually reveals itself, but you have to look to other aspects more so than the past to gauge who is good and who isn't. Kovalainen needs to improve.

McLaren wanted him for this season as 2nd choice afer Rosberg, I do not think Redbull want to give him up to be honest.

how long is his contract with Redbull for anyway?

AKR youre crap not Heikki

Vettel will be Ferrari property. Keep driving Ferrari powered cars and that is where he will end up. Just like Massa did. Remember Massa raced for Sauber-Ferrari (Petronas). Now Red Bull is likely to get those Ferrari engines off Toro Rosso next year and ditch crappy Renault. And hopefully Vettel stays there for a few years and then in 2011 hopefully he goes to Ferrari and followers the winning way. McLaren can keep Heikki. He is crap and belongs in a crap team. Regarding Vettel, it is hands off McLaren!

I dont know Hannah seeing as how Vettel has such a good relationship with MS. That could all very be just a smoke screen but I still think Vettel will take the next seat with Ferrari regardless of contract's as I have seen it happen too often not to doubt it.

True, on the other hand however, a modern F1 car is like a modern fighter jet compared to a B-52. Faster and way more complicated with computers and many buttons to handle 'in flight' so to speak.

Hmm, like many have said, it's way too early to be making cast-iron predictions. If he trounces Webber next year, he'll certainly be setting himself up nicely!

That is IF the Ferrari International Assistance allow the appeal to win. But you see Bud, as you called it yourself, the "Ferrari International Assistance", why on Earth would they allow the appeal to win. :hehe: Anyway putting jokes asside, I would prefer Massa to win over Hamilton in the end more on the grounds that he is a more mature driver than Lewis Hamilton. If Lewis Hamilton could just change his attitude, then that would be another story. Constructors wise, this belongs rightfully to Ferrari even if Lewis Hamilton wins the drivers championship. Ferrari are the better team and rightfully deserve something out of the 2008 Championship. For McMerda oops I mean McLaren to win both is assolutamente unacceptable.
