Hello from France where EwmanM and his entourage roll around the countryside checking out the culture.
This country is so great :D But I won't go into the history side.
I see the site is still healthy inmy absence. I was worried the Dissenters club would hqve imploded by now. Thanks to those who are keeping it afloat.
Until next time , from an internet browser i can understand and a rain clouded Scotland.

:wavey:

Maybe the first part is right, but second part certainly is not. Spanish has much significance. By 2050 it will have as many speakers in the USA as English speakers. Now that is a GREAT prospect. It also ranks 3rd in overall world speakers and English is fourh. But this means nothing as well. Italian is ranked 20th but it is actually the 4th or 5th most learnt foreign language in the world so would therefore hold a significance greater than first thought at first sight. French is only one position before Italian in 19th and is an international language like English so again it means nothing. Portuguese is 6th however far less significant than Italian and French which have much fewer speakers. It is easier to know how significant a language is. Very much wherever you go when you buy something and get an instruction booklet or serach the net etc and Italian, French, German, Spanish and English are almost always there so these are the most significant languages in the world today. Anyway check the list out on the following link. It shows all I have said is true. (Even the bit about Italian being the 4th to 5th most studied language in the world.

French is the offical language of the olympics, and that is fact. But it is ok if they display English for now as I can't speak French and don't intend to learn it either so better English. In Europe, in the major countries who speaks English? In Italy they speak Italian, in France they speak French, in Germany they speak German and in Spain they speak Spanish. Go to anyone of those countries and expect the people to just speak English to you and you'll be in for a big shock Bud. Oh and even in Japan, very few people speak English I have been told with hardly no signs in English. So now I have the problem that when I go to Japan early next year I dont know the language at all. I guess I have around half a year to at least learn basic Japanese. But for me that is ok as for me it would be a dream to one day speak Japanese as I love their culture and language.

Where did you get that fact from?

Quite delusional still I see :( .

Oh and even in Japan, very few people speak English I have been told with hardly no signs in English.

That is only what you have been told so what makes it true?
