Jesus you lot! theyre just very ordinary folk in a very new situation. ok Anthony may be out of his depth but all he ever wanted was the best for his son...and he ain't done bad!

It's not so much he's done bad, more he's an overexposed, know-nothing sniveling git whose living through his son.

We're sick of seeing and hearing him and besides which he's in no way qualified to be an F1 driver's manager. No problem with him being am advisor or whatever, helping Lewis out. But he shouldn't be his manager and he needs to drift into the background

Lewis is stunning but I do not run to his defence all the time. I have said he has made three errors this season. I say again you do not read the posts properly, you see what you want to see. On this occassion i was refering to his father not lewis.

Ok whatever so let's just say we agree that we disagree  ! I'm getting you SO DRUNK next year at Silverstone that you will wakeup a Ferrari fan unless your experience has me waking up in McLaren attire!!

But you say you like McLaren so that should be a pleasnt experience for you :cloud9: Now if I were to wake up in Ferrari gear I might be physically sick :vomit: But youd win the contest. i couldnt outdrink anyone :wine::nuts::headache::oops:

I agree that unfortunately in this politically correct, fart and you're fined climate that F1 is today Leiws would be better managed by a professional. No need to be abusive about his father thiough. i doubt he would have got lewis to where he is knowing nothing.

Hamilton's father has shown himself to be a sausageface on a number of occasions. Apart from that, he's completely out of his depth. It would be wrong for Hamilton to completely dispense with his family; their views are important too and they're looking out for him, but what Hamilton needs is an unbiased, experienced professional who knows the business and well tell things like they are. With a professional at this side, Hamilton will make less of a sausage of himself. I wonder will this new guy be teaching him how to conduct himself in media interviews. :hehe:

Not sure, me. While Anthony did good for his son, but not that much in terms of managing as in making sacrifices to provide money and other necessities for Lewis to develop; he, for sure, didn't (and couldn't) help Lewis much in terms of developing his driving skills. Providing money obviously is not an issue any more, and right now he is doing more damage than help by insisting he can keep on managing Lewis. I think he is acting selfish now, and that does deserve some criticism. He simply wants to be in charge, be in the spotlight, be famous. Live his son's success. Payback time for all his suffering. But any good parent (by my standards) should know when to let his kid go, has he sacrificed himself or not.

Say, maybe rest of the family would like Anthony giving them a bit more attention now that Lewis has spread his own wings..?

From F1 Live:

Hamilton denies manager switch reports

Silverstone winner and joint championship points leader Lewis Hamilton on Wednesday denied reports he is considering appointing a professional manager to handle his Formula One career.

We reported earlier this week that the McLaren driver's current manager, his father Anthony Hamilton, was last Sunday at Silverstone spotted in deep conversation with renowned F1 driver-manager Julian Jakobi.

When asked about the rumours as he tested at Hockenheim, 23-year-old Hamilton replied: "It's not correct, no.

"I am very content with my management team."
