tabloids arent good for a sport like f1, needs to be written by somone in the know, a tabloid journalist will only consider the days events, not so much the team role, past form, testing, tyre wear,

like the way kimi and alonso were driving slow because they had old tyres,

impressed with fa on that last stint btw

They are not much good for news either! , so what are they good for?

are any media outlets in any country good for anything? but truth be told they only feed to the public what they want to hear or maybe its the other way around....

The media thrive on making people fear, usually by grossly exaggerating the importance/likelihood/dangers of something, on cheap, juicy gossip, and bumming up their country's achievements. The press in Britain are particularly bad in these ways. Hamilton will be - once again - termed Britain's best driver ever and have his performance yesterday compared to some of Ayrton Senna's wet-weather drives, but when he makes another mistake or shows his arrogant side again, they'll be putting all manner of negative things out about him.

The press' views will no doubt influence the masses who aren't really into Formula One. Those who are interested in the sport and impartial, however, will be able to see beyond the bullpoo and will have access to a lot more information.

And that's another thing. It's not just with the Scots though. The Welsh and Irish get it too. For instance, when George Best was drinking himself to death, he was a bum from Belfast, the back of beyond across the Irish sea. When he died, he was he was the greatest British footballer ever.

Speaking only for myself it does not matter but maybe there is still that political riff, which is a shame?

There's a bit of a riff and certainly some rivalry, but the country is not in danger of breaking up. Almost all of us get on well, and even the tiny minority who aren't happy realise that the United Kingdom will be ten times better a place to live in than much smaller nation states.

Heh, I was telling my GF that on the weekend. She asked me where DC was from and I said "Depends if he's winning or losing".

Back to the OP, yes I think Hamilton has answered his critics, he has been temporarily forgiven but if he slips up again it certainly wont be forgotten.

tabloids are always going to find something about lewis to pick on him!
its so unfair but thats what happens nowadays!
its just so they can get some stories to the papers!
so we can expect a lot more!
next will probably be picking on what type of socks he is wearing!

did any one watch wimbledon? they had a documentry on Rojer Federra and saying how the press always respects him and thats because he respects them back.

hamilton does respect the press but he is so fed up because of all the events last year that he cant just sit bck and relax!
im suprised he hasnt pulled out of f1 with the amount of critisizm he has had!

If you watched the tennis It was a hell of a game. Prob the greatest game ever seen and good to see Nedal win. And prob surpassed Lewis's achievement in the british Gp. its not about what nationality you are.

yes i agree but they are british papers and its not recently that britain have had some big sport based achievement happen!! i think the last was the world cup however many years ago!
