I think it's well known on here that I'm not exactly Mosley's biggest admirer, but his political savvy is certainly brilliant. It will be interesting to see how Ecclestone reacts to the latest developments here, for, borrowing saying that he has the European Commission on his side several days ago, he has so far kept his powder dry.

I actually think those two are joined at the hip and we are all watching the Max and Bernie show...

Lets not forget it was Max who looked after all of Bernie's legals during the FISA/FOCA wars, then he did a deal to secure the commercial rights for Bernie which made Bernie incredibly rich.

I think this is all smoke and mirrors designed to confuse their enemies. Yes, officially Max's position receives no salary, which gives him greater political clout, however I'm willing to bet my left t3sticle that Bernie will see to it that Max doesn't have to sing for his supper when he retires...

I think it is possible that Bernie had Hooker-Gate leaked to NOTW, and Max knows it. Max wasn't still supposed to be around now, hence a war. Why is Max now bringing a mulitude of proposals forward, all of which financially punish Bernie. Yes, Bernie should have been paying the F1 teams more all along. Who has the most to lose in a major restructure of F1. The timing for a break-away series could not be any better than now, get away from the corruption of Bernie, Max and the FIA.

Dnt think tht'll happen, besides Bernie and the CVC own most commericial rights for Circuits around the world in the case where no other series of tht level can run.

For a President allegedly on his way out he sure is up to a lot of long-term stuff.

Max had no intention of leaving he only said to gain a few more votes now that he is still president he can start to edge out Bernie in the management of F1 and install himself to run the whole show.

No doubt.

Mosley is a very clever man, and has said before he would leave or is considering leaving. All of these were just politically expedient moves designed to get his wishes for motorsport passed.

The war between Bernie Ecclestone and Max Mosley is reportedly over, British newspapers on Friday said.

Dailies including The Times and The Daily Telegraph said the pair, recently at odds over the governance of the sport and the Mosley umpalumpa scandal, have agreed a truce.

"The bottom line is simple - we have moved to patch up our differences," Ecclestone, F1's 77-year-old Chief Executive, confirmed.

Mosley's spokesman added: "It is a very interesting moment in the trajectory of this story."

Ecclestone said he backed Mosley's letter to team bosses, distributed on the eve of the British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone.

"I am happy that the FIA has taken the initiative to allow the teams to write the regulations," he said.

"They will be able to control their expenditure. What Max put in the letter is correct - it's a little cranky that it takes 1000 people to put two cars on the grid," Ecclestone added.
