Question about the lights: the in car view of the lights showed they were blue initially, and only turned red just before Kimi reached the line. I can't find anything in the rules about what the various light colours mean, so does anyone know what the blue lights meant?

You guys are biased anyway and have never raced a car, you dont listen to reason, however it does not matter, Hamilton will be F1 champ weather you like or not. Maybe if he takes this penalty and wins you guys will see the light., no thn it will be luck right, Tool!!

oh dear we have ourselves another one!

i wouldnt make sweeping statements like that, you just dont know, especially as this is your first day!

everyone knows red=stop,

There are a lot of people on here who dislike hamilton and love any excuse to have a go at him. whether he makes a mistake or has a fantastic drive, they will have a go at him. You get used to it.

1) They did make the lights bigger in Canada 2) It is totally Hamiltons fault, how can you not see two parked cars

No need, its the same size everywhere and these guys are paid millions because they are the best so they need to know all the rules and regulations. As for Nico, he was penalized fairly (no severly enough) because if you watch the reply, he didn't stop either and slammed into LH after LH slammed into Kimi. Like Kubica said, he's "grateful" that LH decided to pick Kimi instead of him and did you see that grin on his face when he was asked what happened at the pit lane exit?? He said he was sitting at the light with Kimi when he heard a shun and looked over see Kim and LH tangled then he had a grin on his face, priceless.

I Toally Agree With You, The incedent was ridiculous, Massa lost out majorly and so did alot of other Drivers, the race was fantastic, because Fans have complained that F1 isn't as exciting, but now we have a new era of Formula one, more winners, and alot more variety. But someone who i have the most sympothy for has to be Nelson Piquet, he's an amzing driver & alot of you will disagree, but Renault are most certainly not stupid? so they wouldn't just get a random no body to join their team. And with the car having major brake problems again? it ain't looking good on his behalf?

I personaly think that Hamilton shouldn't have been penalized because everyone can make mistakes. Look at Kimi in Monaco, he also made a mistake and slammed in Sutil but wasn't penalized. And why not? Because he is driving in Ferrari and Sutil is small fish like Force India, but when McLaren takes out Kimi or Ferrari in general they need to be penalized. Even a fool could see that entire FIA and stewards are on Ferraris side.

i dont quite think it was the same, kimis was poor driving, but more of a racing incident, if kimi wasnt there in montreal hamilton would have broken a rule

Last time I checked, this is a discusion forum just because some of our opinions dont agreed with yours doesn't mean its wrong or right. Now some people can take a topic and go off issue and make it personal, its still someone's opinion. As for the 'pit lane" incident, it is what it is, don't matter if he was busy looking at his steering wheel, making cell phone call, or eating a sandwhich, the end result is that he didn't see the red light and ruined the race for himself and two other people so he's penalized for it fairly. Does anyone want to have a real discussion if McLaren and LH had what it takes to win the Canadian GP if there was no "pit lane" incident, please provide your opinions with facts and nothing more.

It is completely the same. Both made practicly the same mistake. If Kimi wasn't penalized neither should have been Hamilton, even more less Rosberg.

it really isnt, kimis was in adverse conditions, and it happens alot, with no penalties, hamiltons would have been a rule break, its fairly obvious to me

Kimi reckons he could have done it. I think he had a shot, he was the fastest on the track just before the safety car & he was in front just after it .......Until

Raikkonen: I could have won the race
"There's not much I can say," Raikkonen started saying after the race. "My race was ruined by Hamilton's mistake. Obviously, anyone can make mistakes, as I did two weeks ago in Monaco, but it's one thing to make a mistake at two hundred per hour but another to hit a car stopped at a red light. I am not angry because that doesn't achieve anything and does not change my result!
"I am unhappy, because I had a great chance of winning. Once the graining had gone from the tyres, the car was going very well. I have failed to score in these last two races and now it's time to start winning again. There is still a long way to go in the championship and it is still very close and we have everything we need to regain the ground we have lost."

i dont have intentions to argue with anyone but it only seems logical. if i hit someone on the road while we are both driving and while he is standing on a red light its completely the same and penalty should be completely the same. it shouldnt't matter if it was in the race or in the boxes. hamilton made the same mistake like kimi in monaco and shouldnt be penalized just like kimi wasn't

yeah but racing is different, to road driving

and if you lost control, you wouldnt necessarily be penalized, but if you hit someone at a red light youd be much more likely too
