They'll never better what Geoff Crammond did at Microprose in my opinion, but as far as racing sims go I'm a git of a dinosaur.

That should, of course, have said "BIT of a dinosaur" but perhaps it was a Freudian slip...

I'm wondering if EA bought the rights for Lewis Hamiltons name, if so he might not appear in the game, kinda like Villeneuve in F1 97 (i think) when he was just Williams No. 1 with a blacked out pic although I can't remember the exact reason why that happened.

I have F1 World Grand Prix on the Nintendo 64 and his name is "Driver Williams". You can edit his name back to his proper name or use it as a cheat in order to access a ficticious Hawaiian track, a Gold car and a Silver car both with INSANE physics that allow you to do up to 999kph!!

 You had that too! That Hawaiian track was crazy. Driving through that Volcano was pretty neat. Plus, Spa was probably the best on there driving with the likes of D.Hill. Brings back memories.

Indeed, I made Hill "defend his title successfull" and made Villeneuve spin off and crash when he tried the same move at the same corner in Hungary. :D

The only thing that really annoyed me about that game is on some occasions the AI would go psycho and take hairpins at 200mph or sit behind backmarkers and not dare to overtake on occasions.

As excited as I am for this game, I'm a bit concerned as well. Codemasters has traditionally done games very well. I'm worried that they might make the game a bit to much on the arcade side versus being more of a simulator. (At least that's the impression I got from the interview) I'd personally like to see the game be as realistic as possible.

Codemasters have already stated that the game will be a sim and not like Grid. :)

Codemasters are the kings of driving games. I am addicted to their Toca series! Absolutely brilliant!

I've never played a Codemasters game i've liked. Never really felt like they got the handling right on the touring car games. I'm pessimistic about their F1 effort

Not even the old Micro Machines games? :)
