Ha Ha !! Well he didnt get booted out by Alonso, he would have partnered him (Oh joy that would have bin such fun!! Can you imagine Juan when Alonso pulled his stunts and sulked-he'd have run rings round him!) The down side is Lewis wouldnt have got the drive.
Maybe Michael has changed, mellowed since he left F1 but if he hasnt I would not have thought him to be a good candidate for handling a fund to promote safety. This is the guy who :-
-drove into a title contender -twice-deliberately
-Instigated the now banned dangerous tactic of weaving across the track to block
-closed the door to peolpe overtaking
-put competitors on the grass at high speed (Alonso, silverstone comes to mind)
-Parked the car in quali to keep pole
None of the above do much for the safety of drivers. Perhaps this role would be better taken by someone who adhered to safe behaviour and consideration and respect for competitors when they drove. Prost, Hill, Hakinnen spring to mind immediately.
Not Mr. Chubby?
why not ask JPM yourself

Dear Juan Pablo,
Did you switch to Nascar simply because Alonso was booting you out of your race seat for 07, like you did to David Coulthard in 05? Not fancy a Red Bull or a Torro Rosso drive?

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
