I had a longhaired Russian Blue 25yr's ago and she was a dog in cat's clothing meaning her loyalty to me was amazing. I brought her home when she was weaned and it was a match made in heaven. She would curl herself around my head and would wake me up by 'cleaning me' as cat's do. On the rare occasion when I would let her outside for the day while I was working she would be sitting at the curb waiting for me to arrive and while she walked with me she would stop when I stopped just like a dog would, it was amazing.

Her name was Kitty Kitty and my heart broke when she was stolen by my neighbor's, I walked a square mile daily for two week's calling to her with no evail :( .

cookie, my chicken

Did Cookie 'impress' itself upon you, I think that's the correct terminology, as your are the 'mother hen'?

'imprint' so close

yeah, its funny cause when she was a chick shed follow your feet around, and if you left her shed make that 'lost my mum' cheap, its funny how no matter if its a baby, chicken, puppy etc its hard to ignore that sound

shes about 8years old now

This is Pushkin who died just before Xmas and was the smartest, evilest cat I've ever come across:

This is Tom, our rescue cat who we got late last year:

(as you can see, I love black cats!)

Hanwombat - that's a lot of pets! I'd love a horse but I don't have the time to look after one. Would also love chickens but t'other half won't let me have any at the moment :(

Sorry to hear about you cat, shge looks adorable.
Yeah horses do take up quite a bit of time, I have 2, well as you can see and am also looking to buying a youngster

lol, the action shots are great, ive just never seen a horse rolling around, lying down, but not rolling, looks like quite a young one, looks like a chicken bustling!

From what I have learned over the year's, which is very minimal  , is that witnessing a horse take 'a roll' like that is they must be very comfortable in their surrounding's and with those in their presence.
A rolling horse is a happy horse :) !

Hollie aint young ;) She is 18 and my other one is 25 but horses can live to 40!, but Hollie would be old to a lot of people

Yup :) When horses roll or lie down, they you could say have let their guard down for possibly predators even though they are very flighty and can soon get up quick. They both love rolling, good to have a good scratch and get off their hair due to moulting.

Sorry to hear about Pushkin passing away, before Christmas too. :(

We had a stray cat once who we adopted who was very soft and a wally, hence we called him Wally. It's nearly 10 years since he first started coming into our gardens, and he died early 2001 after getting run over. We got Jess a few weeks later after that. We got Emmy in mid October 1992.

This is what Wally looked like, used to have a habit of sticking his tongue out and sleeping upside down. :)
