I think people who were calling on Dennis' head were doing so mostly because of the Alonso vs. Hamilton handling and by how he allegedly ignored that someone inside Mclaren had any Ferrari information... I don't personally believe much that's said and rambled around the spy issues, but I doubt they will have the same effect because:

1. Briatore/Renault knew this situation and informed the relevant parties (according to their statement and what they said a long time ago). It was Ferrari who got information from some else and then pressed Mclaren to come forward about the issue.
2. There were also allegations of Ferrari feedback going to Mclaren from Stepney
3. According to the emails... De la Rosa wanted to 'try' some of the Ferrari information and apparently did so on few occasions

And last but not least:
4. Renault went from champions in 2006-07 to mid-field in 2008... Mclaren went from a shaky 3rd (correct me) in 2007 to 1st in 2008. Renault should get punished for undevelopping their ride not for spying; those floppy dics must have been from the 1990 Mclaren F1 :P

I asked this question on one of the threads, however, I'm actually interested in the response of people. After the fallout of the McLaren-Ferrari spy scandal, numerous people called for the head of Ron Dennis. Should Renault be found guilty next month, will the same people be calling for the head of Flavio Briatore?

This would explain why Renault were slow this season, they were using McLaren technology. Which explains why McLaren were fast this season, they were using Ferrari technology...

:lol::lol::lol:

Couldn't resist

It's interesting to see that some souls who were very vociferous about Ron Dennis resigning won't be demanding the same thing from Flavio Briatore. It just goes to show how much anti-McLaren and anti-Ron Dennis feeling exists.

why are you all so frustrated? if that anti RD-anti Mcl feeling really existed, maybe it's because the majority of the people think so...and in a democratic system, majority means truth...ot some other word that i'm not able to translate, my excuses...

So because the majority of people think it's right, it really is right. Ahaha. That says a lot about democracy. Ahaha.

it's not right, but it's accepted as it was. If you are the minority, and you continue thinking that you are right, you are a perseverant...and "perseverare diabolicum est"... you know, like a little baby who always cries when nobody accept his point of view...

I very much doubt it, the other biz was personal between Ferrari/Mosley and RD

Briatore is a sweaty dago twit and F1 would be better of without him.

That may have been part of it, but it was not all of it. People on this forum, for example, said that Ron Dennis must have known about the information, as the boss the buck stops with him etc. so surely the same applies to Flavio Briatore?

My own view on this is that Briatore knew nothing, just the same as Dennis knew nothing. Therefore, both of them should not resign, however, the whole issue just goes to show the hypocrisy of some people.

I think your wrong there , I think Ron and Flav knew there was some inside info being used , but I think all team principals know that's going on . But I don't think RD and possibly Flav knew the amount of info there (as in the whole kit and kaboodle)
Therefore, both of them should not resign, however, the whole issue just goes to show the hypocrisy of some people.
You keep saying that , but who actually called for him to resign , other than fans and some media ? That's a serious question . There's been so much bs , maybe someone who actually mattered did say that , but if so , I can't remember .

Yeah but McLaren International is a business, not a democracy...

Which just posted a colossal loss of $100m, that's about 20% of their annual revenue (not of their profit). The head of this business enterprise is ultimately responsible.

Hm, either your internal clock runs fast or you got the years wrong because of some malfunction upstairs.

Mclaren went from a shaky 3rd (correct me) in 2007 to 1st in 2008.

That's a bold prediction I'd say....

Why not? You're the patron saint of bad moderators for letting RD get away with his crap for so long.
