Oh, not Sebastian Chabal the French baby-eating rugby player.

I thought that was Guy Ligier.

The last race of the CC season is from Mexico sometime this month

At Hermanos Rodriguez? I REALLY love that circuit even though they've pretty much killed off the Peraltada by flattening it and putting a stupid Baseball Ground on the inside, I remember when the TV picture quality used to be totally shocking from there.

Champ Car races are shown on Channel 413 on Sky Digital here in the UK so perhaps I should watch the final round with particular interest and see what Bourdais can do.

Ok i'll admit Seb is a decent driver, but hes a p**ck.

If STR didn't like Scotts attitude, whats Bourdais going to be like?
Probably OK, but it will be interesting to see how reacts to things.
Imagine he was in Webbers car when Vettel hit him.

Has there ever been a less popular Champ Car champion?

He's won elsewhere and didn't really get a fair crack at F1 when he tested for Renault a few years ago. Now he's got the experience with the talent, so I'm looking forward to seeing him on the circuit.

I don't think it'll be long before another team comes knocking at his door.

I assume you mean "Panasonic Toyota", but I could be wrong.

I can't predict how Bordais will shape up, just look at the different results when Indycar champions have come into F1. Mike Andretti and Alex Zanardi stank, Montoya was a revelation for a time, and Villeneuve was the only one to win the title. Personally I'm not convinced.

Do we really need any more French in Formula One? Look at what those people over at Renault have done regarding McLaren...

Or Massive Champagne? :P

That of course remains to be seen.

Compared to when I first started watching in 1988, today's French prescence is fractional in comparison, there were plenty of French drivers, 2 French teams, the "best driver" of the time was of course Alain Prost and Mr Balestre was FISA President. And the Renault team today is only partially French, so it just goes to show how times have changed so much in 20 years.
