I'm a bit confused by the title of this thread, Lewis is currently the GP2 champion and will be the F1 champion in a few weeks too LMAO :wink: He certainly is a champ and todays performance proved he's a worthy one !

I'm sorry but I disagree with some of the points here, Hamilton drove a great race today and did nothing to contravene the rules of F1. If you watch the tape back, Webber was more likely to take Lewis out, and the Brit said as much in his post race interview.

Can we try and move away from the anti-Hamilton feeling on here. I don't follow the guy myself, but I do rate him over Alonso as a better all round package. Alonso was completely outclassed today, but that's no reason to rubbish the great efforts of Lewis. And before anyone brings up the popularity of Hamilton among drivers, I can say that he is well liked in the paddock - whereas Alonso can't even get on with his own team!

Very well said! Every time Lewis proves another point (this time that he CAN drive in rain) Anti Lewis people have to make up bad things about him. It gets annoying!!

I think Hamilton drove a superb race and will be a deserving champion. I dont believe there were any "brake checking" antic's on purpose I believe they were caused by the condition's because the spray made it virtually impossible to see the car in front of you until you were right on top of it. It was indeed a very interesting race.

I wonder what they'll go making up next? He can't cheat? Can't park at Rascasse to stop people beating his pole time? Can't whinge? Can't swim?

Oh go back to spain you bore, it was a hard race and current champion couldn't handle it.....Great race from Lewis:lol:

Hamilton is indeed a very talented driver. But he is no champion. His antics of hitting the brakes in odd places, over and over and over again finally paid off for him when he suckered both red bull cars into crashing out of the race. He should be stripped of his winning points for unsportsmanlike conduct. And his current media campaign againt Alonzo is pathetic. Unfortunately, not uncommon in Britain, but still sickening. He's a jerk, and everyone knows it. The other drivers don't even like him.

I really can't believe what I'm reading here. Hamilton a media campaign? Are you kidding, finally the guy has had enough of this immature teammate of his and he is speaking out. Wouldn't you? I sure would and it would have been earlier than now that's for sure. I praise Lewis for his patience.

Have you ever seen an F1 driver slam on his brakes in a downpour? He'd be spinning off the track in a second if he did that. The fault of the Webber Vettel accident is clearly on the head of Vettel and he admits it. He realized right away and stated he had a momentary lapse of concentration and by the time he collected himself, it was too late.

For those who say that this Hamilton bashing is getting old, I'm with ya there.

Perhaps to be a champion you have to demand that your team give you a better car or strategy than your teammate so you can beat him.

hamilton is the new kid on the block, the older kids dont like it because he is faster than them. this spills over to the message boards. We would all like our fave driver to win , slagging off Lewis is not going to make the others faster or better.

I guess none of you watched the race. Hamilton was almost coming to a complete stop at odd places on the track so often even David Hobbs wondered what he was up to and the commentators speculated about his tactics being designed to rattle the other drivers.

I suppose you could call it a lapse in concentration when you are trying to keep a F1 car on the road on a flooded track with no visibility following a pace car and then are expected to anticipate a car you can barely see will slam on his brakes. Yeah, that makes sense. Hamilton went on and on to the press about how he doesn't want Alonzo as his team mate next year and all but vowed vengance at the first corner. When asked what would happen at the first corner, Alonzo said, "Nothing". Now if Ferrari hadn't idiotically started their cars on intermediates, it would have been a great race.

As it was, all the drivers demonstrated tremendous skill and bravery in appaling conditions. I like a good race, unlike the processions F1 has been for the most part, and Hamilton's pass of Kimi at Monza was fantastic. I would just prefer to see the battles on the track and not in the press.

But if it makes you feel better to label a reasonable appraisal of questionable actions as an anti-Lewis campaign, feel free.
