Lots of rain on Lewis's soul today.

Poor thing couldn't get that all powerful Merc past the Ferrari and even gave up at the end. So sad!

Lots of tears from the Brit press and the Hamilton surrogates at Sky as well.

Dull, dull, dull... an extra DRS zone and still no-one could make a pass for any of the major points, livened up a little by mistakes.

One for the conspiracy nuts with Vettel leapfrogging Raikkonen and Hamilton in the pits under VSC from an effective 11-second deficit after Ferrari powered team HAAS fail to secure a wheel and pull to the side of the road where a V/SC would be required.

Good job though of Ferrari/Seb keeping right in Hams pit window under vsc. Good plan.

... a gamble that paid handsomely.

And, there you have the philosophy of ANY F1 team, in a nutshell!

And right on que, Hamilton throws his team under the bus.

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/13503 ... right-data

"In the race I had extra tools, I could have been further ahead by the first pitstop.

"There were so many good things we could have done, but if one thing is telling you one thing, and you think you're doing it to the book, within the limits, then there's nothing you can do."

Hamilton chose the wrong time not to be racing the guy ahead of him.

Maybe someone should tell Hamilton about the old mantra, "we win as a team and we lose as a team"

After all, if it weren't for Mercedes, I doubt he would now be a four-time world champion.

Vettel got lucky , unlikely that Merc is too concerned as it is a long season. Ham could close but not pass, Kimi couldn't close on Ham. Ricc could close but not pass Kimi.

Was annoyed to see vettel win due to pit stop being allowed during safety car. He would never have won otherwise. Very unfair. Go back to no pit stops during safety car

There are many elements to winning.
Beginning with the team, the driver and the car;
but, the balance?
Lady Luck!!
