:banghead: What is it with guys and rules and tinkering!! (((GENERALLY speaking!!)))

* extra tires, makes sense; but, costs too much in dollars (therefore not enough cents)!
* definitely give points for pole... maybe even second and third?
* 10 :whip: if you don't go out in Q3, when you should!

Giving points for pole wouldn't make the runners who just get into Q3 want to run, because they've no hope of making it to Pole anyway; so that wouldn't work. Giving them an extra set of Q3 tyres is like saying "Go on, give it a go!", but the issue this year will be people wanting to conserve engines. If you loose 3 engines in the first 10 races (when they will be most unreliable) that leaves you with 2 for the rest of the season. Making Abu Dabi really REALLY lottery based.

Great points!! You made me think!!

With the double points system, if the top three drivers have engine blow outs before this race,
it's entirely possible (though not probable) that the driver in fourth position is crowned WDC!! :yikes:

You're assuming we'd have 4 drivers within 25 points or less in the last race...when has this happened before? Even if it's double points, don't forget you get double points for every finishing place so it's not like the winner gets 50 and everyone else still gets peanuts.

Which kind of negates double points anyway really.

Yes, that is the assumption... I also said that ""if"" the top three have blow outs...
that's why I said it's possible, though not probable...

To an extent, right?

Let's ignore Vettel, for the sake of this example...
Look at Webber, in third... before Brazil, he would have had 181 points and Alonso would have had 227.
If Alonso's last engine blows, during the race, and if Webber wins, with the double points system, he's WDC by 4 points!

I personally don't agree with the double points, but if you're going to have a double points race near the end of the season you've GOT to have one at the start of the season to even it out a little
#390833
Lol evening what out?? The double points thing is freaking stupid in the first place and pretty unfair to organizers of every other race which would seem watered down. It's another cheap gimmick to make everyone watch the races even if 1 driver was a bit ahead of the rest so mathematically, the WDC is still "OPEN".

You can't even this sh*t out in anyway, it's like saying oh crap I have gangrene in my right arm if only I could even it out by having it on the left. :banghead:

It would be similar to 2007 last race when Kimi had a stroke of casino magic

And that was the only time in my F1 watching history that a driver I was pulling for won the WDC. What a race that was. :hehe:

2010.

:yikes: We did didn't we. Hamilton was 24 points behind Vettel if not mistaken.

And, it would be similar to 2008's last race when Glock lost position to Hamilton, who finished in 5th; but, won the title!
Talk about "a stroke of casino magic"!! :P
