Just as it says...

Small eco impact, approximately 1500 square feet, able to run off the grid, beautiful natural low maintenance property with a creek, lake or some type of water feature near by. OH, and overlooking Tabac or Rascasse. :D

I think if I won the lottery, I would not got for a low maintenance house.

Childish as it sounds I have always wanted to build my own place. Nice view, in fact I drive past the place I would like to build it on the way to work. Anyway the childish bit, I would want it like a castel. Automated drawbridge over the moat, so that as you pull up to the drawbridge opens and you drive straight into the garage.

The whole bottom floor would be the garage. Fully fitted out... 4 post vehicle lift etc.

1st floor would be living areas and office.
2nd floor would just be a big roof patio with the "battlements" being wide/deep enough to hold a swimming pool, games room etc. At each corner would be 2 story high (on top of the first 2 foors) towers, each one containing bedrooms/wash facilities etc. The roof of the towers would be also living space for solitude

So what would everyones ideal home be like?

Like you I would design and build my own, you can probably guess what it would be made of. Not castle like but a modern design with traditional features though not from any particular style. Maybe that sounds a bit vague but the thing I like about traditional architecture is that a lot comes from function and how the different styles solved different problems.

Meh. It doesn't look that great...

Seriously?!

It looks more like a place of work than a home. Not for me. Interesting style though.

I greww up on a late 70's housing estate where all the houses looked the same and now live in a street full of granite tenement buildings in a city full of granite tenement buildings which all look the same so something like this that is different and stands out appeals to me.

So what would everyones ideal home be like?

Somewhere in the hills or the forests near Ballater or Braemar. No neighbours would be a bonus.

Neither. I hate hearing other peoples noise and seeing other peoples mess in the streets and the communal stairwell. Seeing a night sky free from light pollution is something I always enjoy.

Not sure Antilia would be the place for you then, unless you want to just live at the top of your tower and never go out.

I never said it was my ideal home. Just that I like it.

I'm sure if you could afford to own it, you could easily block out all traffic noise.

If I could afford to own that, I would not own that.

It would be like buying one of these just because you've got enough money:
