I really hate this track for some reason.

New Hockenheim is by no means a bad circuit. Far from it.

Looking forward to this race. The new layout, whilst unspectacular in comparison to the former long, blasting straights through the forest, STILL offers ample opportunity to pull a good pass.

It can throw up some pretty good racing.

Yep. I still fondly remember Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso racing side by side through about 3 or 4 corners all the way back in 2004. Good moment, that one.

I also have plenty of images of cars buried in the turn 1 barriers, including Schumacher, Burti, Fisichella, Raikkonen (on more than one occasion), etc, etc

Button having to keep one hand on his helmet to stop it getting sucked off as he chased Alonso down. Great stuff.

Absolutely. Lucky Strike-sponsored BAR vs Mild Seven-sponsored Renault. While Marlboro-sponsored Ferrari was miles ahead up the road. Hard to believe that's 8 years ago now!

It's not the same as Valencia though, this is a more deep brooding resentment ( ) cause they've wrecked a legendary track for something completely middle of the road, and for no good reason - none whatsoever. I mean what the hell were they thinking?! There is literally no freaking reason why it had to be changed, NONE, and it genuinely pisses me off....

Valencia generally provides crap races which is where the dislike comes from.... not the case at Hock but i still despise this circuit to the fullest extent possible for the aforementioned reasons. post '02 Hockenheim

Don't forget that the Nurburgring was also meddled with around 2002, similar to Hockenheim, but on a far less drastic scale.

Yes! I hate the first section on that new Nurburgring too! The old version flowed so brilliantly. But it's only a couple of corners not the entire spirit of the track that is ruined...

Old Hockenheim was the best!

The German GP should just be at the Nurburgring.

I actually forgot the German GP was going to be at Hockenheim this year until I started reading through this thread. I would perfer the Nurburgring over Hockenheimring, The new Hockenheimring just feels like well....... meh.
