What compounds are Pirelli taking here?

All of them!! It's the British Grand Prix remember. One minute it's nice and sunny, the next, everybody has got their umbrellas up and the cars turn into canoes. Let's just hope our boys can make it to the finish line if the weather does make a turn for the worst.

Another 2008 Silverstone show wouldn't do too badly...for those who need reminding, it was a humbling experience for no.2 driver onwards.

And seriously, if mclarens updates here dont make them more competetive here, the season is over for them WDC and WCC wise

Do you think McLaren even deserve the WCC? Not that they can get it anyway, with 1 driver performing like he's drugged but their mistakes this season are more than Caterham.

I was watching Ferraris pitstops again in Valencia, it's insane. Hamilton's first pitstop was trouble free, but still very slow in comparison to ANY of Ferraris pitstops...I don't understand why they're unable to match them in this area.

Still very slow?? They did a sub- 3 second stop! (not sure if it was Hmiltons or Buttons). They just need consistency....

Yeah I think for the slow dude, their pitstops are perfect.

Sorry Hammer, but the stats say different. Hamiltons first stop, was the qucikest stop of the race!

Thats total pitlane time, but due to pitlane limit, the difference will be in the actual pitstops.

But regardless, one stop doesnt mean theyve turned the corner. They have proved they can do it, they just need the consistency....

Thats the thing that frustrates me. Ted Kravitz said on Sky that this new jack had failed on McLaren a couple of times in a practice session, and yet they STILL decide to use it in a race...? Thats just crazy.

Mclaren had the shortest pit stop of the day possibly. With Lewis to boot, it was 2.9 seconds. I actually forgive the second pit stop as it was clearly the front Jack that failed, so chalk that up to equipment failure, which beats your alternator giving out as far as equipment failure is concerned.

Getting back to McLaren and the WCC...

Do you boys and girls realize that the last time McLaren won a WCC was in 1998 with Mikka Hakkinen?

Yep...it's actually pretty cool when a driver wins the WDC and the team doesn't win the WCC, you tend to think a lot more about the driver's talent scale.

No i think they probably dont deserve it, like you say ferrari have got pitstops down to a t, mclaren top brass must be pulling there hair out every race, let alone lewis and jenson.

*edit and its not just the pitstops, the teams strategy calls have been shocking all season too (bar canada), i was screaming at my tv to bring lewis in and put a set of softs on when he said they were going with 14 laps to go in valencia, i woulda thought they would have done it as he showed in cananda you can make up the time you loose just with the benifits of new rubber

Webber and MSC showed this weekend how much you can gain with newer tires too.

Would love to see mclaren win the wcc, but since china they haven't looked very good hopefully they can get something going at their home race.
