Precisely why I'd love to see F1 ditch the ridiculous 13 inch wheel regulations. Pirelli wanted that as a prerequisite but it all somehow fizzled.

I am just a novice fan and will never know all the politics/policies of F1. I do remember seeing the R10's run here in Houston when we still had the Grand Prix. Pretty cool that something that fast was that silent. I also heard that noise was an issue with the new F1 cars next year with the switch to turbo motors.

I heard something that eloquently explained why F1 didn't/couldn't switch to such regulations. I can't remember exactly why but i seem to remember it is something to do with tyre failures... if i find a link i'll post.
