2012 will see the introduction of Claiming Rule Teams (CRT) to allow for participation by independent teams with lower budgets. CRTs will be given twelve engines per rider, six more than the other teams and more fuel – 24 litres (5.3 imperial gallons) instead of 21 litres (4.6 imperial gallons) – but will be subject to a factory team buying, or "claiming", their engines for €15,000, or €20,000 with the transmission. The sport's governing body has received applications from sixteen new teams looking to join the MotoGP class.

Its the claiming of their engines for 15000 or 20000 by a works team when the CRT team have paid 100000 for them  Why would a works team want one and why should the CRT team sell them at a loss?

You would assume they buy all the engines for that much, not just one.... 100k for an engine is a lot in most motorsport categories!!

Its a huge amount isnt it! But it was in that lin k I posted. Heres where it was mentioned

"There are still a few details under discussion about the claiming rule. The teams are unhappy that they may be forced to hand over an engine which may have cost them over 100,000 euros for a fraction of the price, but the season will start with the rules as they stand."

I cant really seee how that will help the new teams save money

All I know about the CRT bikes is that they will be way off the pace. Its all about Honda, Yamaha and Ducati factory bikes. But CRT could have potential in coming years but there going to be nowhere in 2012.

Ah well. Stoner might get poorly. And Vale has got that bike where he can dial it in. It has a hugely wide set up window, and he's good at setting up :D

Looks like tyres will be more of a factor this year, Yamaha and Honda seem to be much closer, with probably Yamaha with the edge with a slightly more stable bike but Honda with the engine power. It will be a battle between Yamaha and Honda for this season.
