Thanks for the replies guys, but a few posts ago I said that I'd found the one I was looking for. It was the left handed second to last corner at monza, on the exit the drivers go right over the white like and sort of swing back. Martin Brundle definitely made a comment about it this year.

Still, thanks!

No worries....but I thought that tarmac runoff was always there? Since I started watching in 1998.

That corner coming out of the chicane at Monza has been tarmac like that forever, drivers go wide so they get a better exit. Also it isn't a right hander or downhill.

It was Spa at Rivage that changed this year from gravel to Tarmac (trees, right hander and downhill). Coulthard and Brundle discuss it in Quali when Michael Schumacher crashed there. They may have also discussed it during the race, but I will need to watch it again to be sure.

EDIT: Just re-watched the first few laps of the race at Spa. They do discuss Rivage when Alonso goes wide while battling Massa and Hamilton. Coulthard gives the info and then Brundle chimes in with that before the change "he would have been out".

 Yeah, I'm sure it's been like that for ages.

From memory, drivers have always been able to run off the track at Variante Ascari without ending up on the dirt. I think there has been either painted concrete or astroturf style stuff there for years.
