We may well see multiple championships for them (Schumacher-esqe) once again.....

highly doubt Ferrari will repeat that kind of success.

MrM is not helping these days and they don't have the huge brains anymore (just the regular sized ones now).

He nearly (should) habe managed to win a title already for Ferrari last year, so I doubt he'll have to wait 10 years for one.

Not sure I agree with your logic there.

Neither do I. Just because a driver came close does not mean that they will come close again or even win a championship. There are plently of drivers who came close and that was as close as they ever got.

But werent you lot the same lot saying you think Vettel will beat Schumachers records because of his F1 career so far?

May i point you in the direction of the previous two youngest world champions, alonso and hamilton, who since 2006 and 2008 respectively havent gained any more titles despite massive media hype over the next years of their domination, F1 doesnt work like that.

For all we know Sauber with a decent car already and most advanced wind tunnel of the whole f1 grid, coupled with the backing of Carlos Slim and his millions, Sauber could do a 2007/8 and have the best car next year, and Kobayashi might win the title in dominating fashion.

We just dont know what will happen, such is the exciting nature of F1.

Nope.

Based on Vettel's age and Red Bull having Newey in their pocket he has a good chance at the moment but none of us know what will happen, especially when the new engine reg's kick in. But you're right about the unpredictable nature of things. Gosh me and Fraff in agreement! :thud:

Kobyashi title eh? Heck, I 'd just be happy seeing a Japanese driver get a win but a championship?! Vettel's title this year calls for a Irish jig one it's in the bag (and you can hold me to that on the championship thread that you started Fraff) so I guess a Kobyashi championship would call for backflips! that would be something. :cloud9:

My entire point is that you dont know he has a good chance, Neweys made as many average cars as he has great ones, it could stop next year for all we know, we dont, of course and considering the lack of rule changes Red Bull should be there or there abouts god forbid it next season, but my whole point is that estimating another 5 titles for Vettel today when he hasnt even got two yet is premature to say the very least.

And you know as well as i do Kobayashi would dominate in this years red bull!

You know i really literally will cry and rage quit F1 if someone doesnt sign him up and he becomes a Heidfeld or a Barrichello and just floats through an F1 career, if the F1 teams have any common sense theyll sign him up after 2012 in replacement of Massa, Schumacher or Webber. Hed happily oblige to playing number two for such a top seat and podium/win finishes, and hes proven how good he is.

You're right and the mystic laws of F1 will kick in. All teams, no matter how experienced, how good or how many Adrian Newey's they have they will eventually produce a duff car. Look at Ducatti in MotoGP this year. They could have been in contention for the title but they went too far trying to be revolutionary and made a real mess of things. Exactly the same happens in F1.

Look at the gap between Schumachers Benetton and Ferrari titles - 5 years! Exactly the same could and probably will happen for Vettel. Alonso and Hamilton are both widely considered to win future championship, but they are both having a bit of a wait.

As for Kobyashi, if he is not moving up the grid after 2012 then it will be an F1 crime, however his big downfall is backing. As far as I know his only backing comes from his father's restraunt in Japan, but hopefully this has changed given his performance this year. The thing about him being a number 2 driver is that he is so damn fast. It would be a brave number 1 driver that willingly accepts him as a team mate.

I think the reason that Alonso and Hamilton have not racked up more championships is that they have been in cars that where no where near as good as the front team, Brawn/Red Bull, It gets worse for them as well now that Seb has joined there group of being head and shoulders above the rest of the grid. Plus the Redbull is the class of the field at the moment.

And if a pig could fly, does that mean the HRT are hiding something

Sauber with a dominant car? :hehe: sorry that really did make me LOL!

Interested to know how funny you thought the idea of Honda having a dominant car for 09 in 08 was.......?

Id of personally thought having watched F1 for at least twenty years youd of learnt otherwise.....

haha Knew you would bring that up, But unfortunately for your theory Brawn were fast thanks to Honda's money and drastic reg changes. One thing you should look at is the budget of Sauber, Nothing in comparison to the top teams. They will ever only be a mid field team at best. Even when they had the budget as BMW they still only managed one race win which in part was due to Lewis and Kimi crashing out.

So again having watched F1 for over 20 years I learned that Sauber will never have a dominant car in their current situation. So thanks for pointing that out. Maybe you should listen to others who know more than you instead of jumping the gun.

Ferrari owe a lot to their most successful persona to schumachers 5 titles, and the early 1950's for me, since then they win odd drivers championships, but think Mclaren have been far more consistently the better team, just dont have 16 extra years ferrari had.

Hopefully Alonso leaves earlier then 2016 if he isnt actually winning, otherwise the lack of driver movement would bore me to death.
