I've also been flirting with the whole kindle thing, but I love the feeling of a book in my hands and folding a page over to mark my place.

There again, I imagine some future version of myself reading this post and laughing.

Beta or VHS? :D

Iknow exactly what you mean. I flirted with it for ages then got one as a leaving present from my school. It doesnt replace books but is an excellent addition. Give it a whirl! Oh, you get a virtual page fold when you book mark the page :hehe:

Funnily enough, Beta was better quality but VS was cheaper, apparently according to someone who was around at the time.

Just thought I'd drop in that bit of trivia. :D

It was all down to Sony. Sony backed VHS and the rest is history. They did the same with HD-DVD and Bluray. Oh Look Sony puts a Bluray player into the PS3.... where is HD-DVD now.

The break over Christmas has finally presented me with some time on my hands. I've therefore finished reading Sons & Lovers, by D. H. Lawrence. What an amazing book! It's definitely one I will re-read in the future. :)

The stack of books I have to read now is rather large. I'm tackling a few at once now, having completed the latest novel. I'm currently reading a selection of plays by Lancashire playwright Jim Cartwright, and also a book called Walk the Lines - The London Underground, Overground. Written by Mark Mason, he sets himself the task of walking the length of every line. A book filled with plenty of fascinating facts and good humour, it's proving to be a terrific read.

I'm certainly going to be occupied for a good while.... 8-)

 Im also addicted to downloading books. Way faster than I can read them! And all of them free or costing less than a pound. I have sessions at it. :D I now have a rule that I read one modern/easy reading novel followed by a classic. So its making me read more worthwhile books. The latest was 'The picutre of Dorian Gray' by Oscar Wilde. Ive seen the play before but hadnt read the book. Loved it! And recently watched the film on tele.
Sennaville we'll have to swap kindle recommendations.

And me please :) I got a Kindle for Christmas and I'm loving it. Got a lot of random free books to work my way through, plus it's really useful for my knitting patterns (sad, I know :hehe: ). I love the fact there are so many free/very cheap books and that it's so easy to download them.

I still do love the feel of a proper book though and I still buy proper books from my favourite authors.
