Very tough, very difficult to get it down to one.
Pink Floyd of course, The Cure of course, Sisters of Mercy of course, Depeche Mode of course, a whole bunch of others spanning ELP to Prince to Grendel, Wumpscut and what not. But it always comes back down to Kate Bush
Quirky and massively talented at the same time, she created her own style (many times copied and emulated by now ). She composes and arranges and performs her songs herself unlike so many wannabe artists these days who can't even sing the crap that was written for them without lipsyncing She's got a huge register and her songs always take me to some other world

Hold up here as I'm getting confused. The poll question in my interpretation is who is your favorite band not who are your favorite band's. Yall see how I injuncted mu texmix

Always happens with a favorite 1, 5, 10, etc thread. Regardless of the limit, a lot of people will exceed it. Not saying this applies to anyone in particular, but the implication usually seems to be "I love [subject] so much, I can't limit my choice(s) to X".

Narrow it down, like if you had to name the person that you'd had the best umpalumpa of your life with... it would hopefully be your spouse or your current partner or whatever, but you should be able to narrow it down to one. I know it's hard to come up with just one band that you like, but this is the one that's moved you to a higher plane, that's influenced you, that's been the one you turn to again and again.

@Tex you still didn't say why Pink Floyd.

@DD I was embarrassed to say that I didn't have a Kate Bush song in my iTunes library.

@Everyone that posted a band as their favorite that I wasn't familiar with, I have checked them out.

I didn't say I don't like her, I particularly liked her collaborations with Peter Gabriel. But but no songs on my list to show for it.

Unedited re-post for your re-reading pleasure. I'm not going to stop until you say why Pink Floyd is your favorite band dammit! You weren't the only one getting high to them you know.

Well we've got the now playing thread and people have mentioned things here and there on other about you type threads. I wanted something specific to just who your favorite band or artist is, and why. It's just an opinion and there is no bad music if it speaks to you, so jam away with your story.

Easy there Tex... there's no right or wrong answer, and perhaps I'm spending too much time here since you're starting to make sense! I get what you're saying though. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a person alive today between the ages of 35 and 55 that wasn't influenced by their music.
