^^^Correct....my point is there is no reason to believe that vip lifestyle is what has caused Hammy to falter as Niki is insinuating.

What's the reason then? Lauda is only doing the same thing as us lot. Responding to a question with an opinion and discussing his theory.

umm..Hammy said himself that it was family issues. Not partying. :whip:

Why do people have issued with young lads getting drunk and partying. Lets face it people have said the same about Kimi and Jenson.

I am sure that in my 20's I had a few hangovers turning up to work... I still do now.... just don't tell the pond life.

I'm in my early 20s and I party like there's no tomorrow, when the time is right. Jesus, you only live once! :drink:

A man to my liking :whip::whip:

This is insane. Someone answer for me whether or not a driver who records the fastest Q3 lap, but who gets demoted for a gearbox change, is still considered to have won the pole, even if he doesn't start from the pole position? Or is the second fastest guy considered the actual pole winner (as opposed to pole starter)?

If hamilton gets pole, he will be considered the pole-sitter, regardless of any penalties. I remember this being discussed by Whitmarsh last year on BBC (maybe around canada) when Hamilton had a similar penalty (i think due to a race incident), but the team also thought they had a reasonable shot at pole.

I wonder if they checked the gearbox after its little 'glitch' in the first race?Could be related.
I wasnt even suprised when I read there was a gearbox problem. And he goes well at China, very well. What incredibley bad luck, problems in the first three races. Not looking so good is it. This is when he should be capitalising on having the fastest car before the other teams catch up. :irked::headshake::headshake::headshake::thumbdown:

I can't believe I'm encouraging this, but I thought I heard someone mention his lack of pace in Malaysia could have been due to the gearbox as well...

IF this is the case, I might even take it as good news. If Lewis has been stuck with a bad gearbox this whole time, just imagine how fast he'll be with a good one. Additionally, finishing on the podium twice with all the bad luck AND a bad gearbox would be even more impressive.

Wet running...plus McLaren can absolutely trash that gearbox in practice sessions, if it breaks it breaks...they are going to change it anyway.

Lewis should qualify 2nd at worst, which puts him 7th. This is a very overtaking friendly track (as Hamilton proved last year :D ), all's not lost yet.

So Lauda's mouthing off again about Lewis' lifestyle, why does that not surprise me?

Nice to see lewis top the time sheets.
#298632
Lauda's made a new career using his mouth, something which Irvine did for a while. Lauda is a lot more committed to his new careeer though.

I was glad to see Anthony overlooking things in FP1. I wonder if they are considering not changing out the gearbox?

Is Mccl planning any sort of mini-celebration, photo op, etc, in recognition of their "800th" pole? :grandad::laugh:

If so, it would be nice to see Lewis get primary recognition (for his contributions), and some plain ol' fashioned l-o-v-e, when and if it eventually happens (hopefully with Lew at the wheel of course)!

Otherwise, looking good so far. <fingers crossed>

It would be good to see Lewis get that 800th.

Do we remember Mark Webber's amazing fightback from the back of the grid here last year? I'm looking forward to seeing Lewis do the same, but it should hopefully only be from something like 6th or 7th. :)

I'm guessin webber will get 4th or 5th, something close to that or ahead, preferably, and rocket up to first place  so lewis will have to wait!! :director:

Well didnt Lewis overtake about 4 on track last year to get his win? Including Vettel twice and Button. So there's hope, unless there are more 'issues'.
