Yeah but throughout William's history, even in their hay-day they were always changing engine supplier left right and centre so it shouldn't be a automatic recipe for failure.

3.1 Ford engines (1976–1983)
3.2 Honda engines (1983–1987)
3.3 Judd engines (1988)
3.4 Renault engines (1989–1997)
3.5 Mecachrome engines (1998)
3.6 Supertec engines (1999)
3.7 BMW partnership (2000–2005)
3.8 Cosworth engines (2006)
3.9 Toyota engines (2007–2009)
3.10 Return to Cosworth engines (2010–2011)
3.11 Return to Renault engines (2012–2013)
3.12 Mercedes-Benz engines (2014)

Edit: Didn't realise that I was replying to a post from a month ago, ignore my stupidity.

Sometimes bud we fulfill our own prophesies. When you induce the thread that's been sleeping for a month, how long before you get the response you're looking for?

Hmm yeah I agree...just like this one, its as good as new and a great read in fact.

For the past 3 years they've had whom many regard as the greatest of all time in Scumacher and look how they've gone. You're overestimating Mercedes and underestimating McLaren as usual, I'm confident you'll have egg on your face next season, and if you have the balls ill put money on it with you!

I really don't understand your hatred for McLaren and Jenson, Hammer....

Look Marussia are doing worse than Merc WHAT A BUNCH OF ******** **** ***** ******* ******* FOR NOT BEING AS GOOD AS MERCEDES.

It's all just getting a bit old TBH, McLaren are in a rut, Jenson is good when he has a good car setup exactly how he likes; but he is not the guy to drag a team out of a rut.

Same old song by the forum prophet.

Ah Bud! There you are

Do you want to put any more bets on with me about McLaren vs Merc? Or do you want to wait to till after you settle the current $1000 bet?

Well when you put it with such concise clarity it takes all the fun out of it. :hehe: It does make me thing however about the people behind the posts, so here's my stab at it.

Profile types that post on this topic.
1. Rabid Jenson Fans that believe he's capable of winning championships if only McLaren wouldn't have catered so much to Lewis. Since Lewis wasted so many opportunities with McLaren over the years that Jenson would have capitalized on because he's that much more of a thinking driver.

2. Pragmatic Jenson supporters that in the words of another forum member that put it so eloquently said; "Jenson is good when he has a good car setup exactly how he likes; but he is not the guy to drag a team out of a rut".

3. You have the flip side of two, which are people that see Jenson as just another journeyman midfield driver, that happened to get lucky and be with the right team at the right time, and realize that in sport, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

4. The Rabid Jenson detractors that for various reasons (mostly because they take his volume of work, and saw the disproportionate effort afforded him in Mclaren) feel that he's taking up a valuable seat at a team that currently needs a leader but instead has a paper tiger driver and a paper mache management and how dare they squander talented drivers (namely Lewis) the way they do.

I think the bulk of folks here fall into the 2 and 3 groups... the others well, it's easy to tell. :hehe: But coming to think of it, the number 1 group is probably the smallest.

Isn't it great that the Lewis v. Jenson thread is locked? :cloud9:

We don't need the Lewis v Jenson thread anymore. It's history. Lewis and his supporters have moved on. Jenson and his attention seeking games did Lewis a huge favour. An' Ahm lovin it!!! :cloud9:

We need a Lewis Overtakes Jenson Count thread...I've lost track of how many times he's overtaken Button this season. Could someone make a compilation on youtube of all the overtakes Hamilton has made over his former teammate....it should be about 5 minutes long at least. :cloud9:

Jenson is talking about McLaren's poor form and part of what he says is....

""Whereas now, with a bad season, trying to find every detail, improve everything and work on every single detail, I think will make us a stronger team next year.

"We've found it before - in 2009. I think it's a positive thing for us for the future."

I'm somewhat confused by his use of the word 'we'. 'We'.....as in Jenson and Mclaren? Well they weren't an entity in 2009.

'We', as in Jenson and the Brawn car? Well that has nothing to do with the current situation of Jenson and McLaren, nothing much to with Jenson at all really, more to do with Brawn finding a loophole in the rules and stealing a march on the other teams. So Im left confused by this use of the word 'we' .
Here's the rest if the article so that the comment I posted isn't seen out of context.

The 2009 we part could be seen as strange, but I don't disagree with the guy, you learn a hell of a lot more from failure than you do from success. It's only that it's so much easier to share failure than it is to share success.
