It's only been two races as well! A safety car messing about with pit-stops in the first and it rained for the second, conventionally seen as pieces of f1 that depend on a large part of luck.

You just have to be patient I think, this has been brought about by two years of Redbull and Vettel dominance stealing Lewis's crown as the "new big thing", an uncompetitive car in 09 and Lewis finally getting bested by a team mate last season combined with McLaren having the strongest car this season. No one would've minded so much had Lewis just won the title, or had he had a bad pit call that cost him fourth place which was the place McLaren looked like getting on raw pace. IMO

If any team would get fully on board with Lewis, whether it be McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull, perhaps even Mercedes, then we -- as F1 fans first and foremost -- would have that rare opportunity to witness a virtuoso at the top of his game, and perhaps, we might see a bundle of history making moments, instead of wondering after every race: "Why did that happen?" "What were they thinking?" "Wasn't Lewis in position to have a better finish that that?" And on and on and on and on. But I guess some people like it that way?

Are you suggesting Lewis needs preferential treatment to be able to win? Sounds like it to me.
But take Australia for example I guess the team made his start poor and then Jenson pulling away from him was down to the team also? The main problem with Hamilton fans is they think he is unbeatable, especially if its by Jenson. So when Jenson does beat him they like to look for reasons other than Jenson was just simply faster on the day.

I do understand why some F1fans find Lewis fans annoying, I think the same can be said of any drivers fanboys but with Lewis fans the stink of conspiracies when ever he loses just makes you all look like bad sports.

As for my own opinion on Hamilton, I hope he wins the championship this year but at the same time I know he isn't a god, he does make mistakes something he's done since his first year. Once he irons out his mistakes he might be unbeatable but until then there's going to be an air of uncertainty.

I certainly dont want lewis having favours. I just dont think he's fully supported at the moment. And Ive never claimed the start of the first race was anything other than lewis' fault (despite him having a launch prgramme he was perfectly happy with altered on the warm-up lap! In fact I havent even mentioned that till now!) My issue with the first race was leaving him out two laps when his tyres were shot. My issues with the second race are well documented. No he's not God and yes he makes mistakes, they all do.There are just too many buts........

Actually what I mean by "get fully on board with Lewis," is treatment similar to the l-o-v-e that Jenson seems to be getting at , whether you call that preferential treatment or not.

Simple respect for what Lewis has already done, and respect for what he brings that no other driver presently brings, which sadly seems to be lacking at his present place of employment.

This suggestion that McLaren are somehow intent on screwing Lewis Hamilton over, in favour of Jenson Button, has been rinsed bone-dry over the course of this thread's life, so you can understand why some of us who like to maintain a broader view (this tends to be people who support the team, or general fans, or in fact ANYONE who is not assigning themselves solely to Lewis Hamilton) is thus getting a little tired.

I have never conversed with anyone like you elsewhere, not that I can recall anyway.

You appeared to query my presence within this thread on the grounds that I was defending McLaren against these suggestions. You yourself didn't word your message to myself and McLaren (the member) in the nicest of words, so I responded accordingly.

Look, I wasn't trying to piss anyone off, but we can get just as frustrated as you guys can. it kind of feels like a particular viewpoint is being suppressed. . . . Not saying it is or isn't, time will tell I guess.
