That's what i'm saying. They had both gears' ready, because it was Alonso's pitstop but Massa went in because of the SC (but the team knew he was coming in as well). In the end, they were ready for both/either of them it was just a small matter to resolve once Alonso was ahead.... not that much time for the team, but it seemed good enough as they got through the stops ok. Except for Massa... he had to wait in line hehe you snooze you lose.

No it is a combination of qualifying speed, race speed, race craft and consistency that get you the points. And points matter the most.

If we judged drivers on qualifying alone Trulli would be one of the fastest on the grid.

Do you seriously judge a driver on qualifying speed alone?

I've said many times on this forum how amazing I thought Hamilton was in his first season. He was stunningly quick and made little or no mistakes.

If you are trying to make me angry or whatever you won't because it wasn't until 08 that I started to fully support Alonso. I was a R. Schumacher fan till the end of 07.

The reason this debate happens on most forums is because there was no clear cut winner. On paper, Lewis was 2nd, Alonso 3rd and I guess that is what matters most but they were the first of the losers to a driver who won 6 times in comparison to their 4 each.

Kimi was better than both of them.
