This has long been a problem in F1.....the big teams just hate having a smaller team get a technical advantage over them.

Every time Ferrari and Mclaren dominate....it's OK and pukka.

But when Renault introduced Mass-damping shock absorbers....they protested.... and now Red Bull has got an edge, McLaren have spent most of the year campaigning to get the "compliance" tests changed so as to equalise performance. And if that doesn't work, they constantly bombard the media with "speculation" over legality.

(just imagine if Red Bull got the Mercedes engines they wanted!)

Wonder if McLaren were prepared to let their advantage go in 1988 when they won 15 races in a season?

This is an innovation sport....to the most innovative goes the spoils.

Redbull have been pretty active in getting McLaren parts looked at this year too. F Duct prime example. This is always and will always be part and parcel of F1. Its apart of the spectacle.

And not one mention of Mclaren, what a perfect article for the Ferrari fans huh, Ferrari can enjoy an advantage inthe full throttle section, is that the famed old engine advantage? TBH it doesnt suprise me that another one of your posts (albeit written by someone else) totally disregards the chances of the team that has led the championship for a hefty part of the season......

Mention Mclaren ??
He was merely protecting you guys from the prediction of Lewis slamming and Jenson lingering at the bottom of the top 10... :hehe:

For the race, Vettel for the win, even if it rains. And the Casino barriers to end up with some shiny silver paint

Seems all that talk about having an impact on the RB6 front wing flexing was just that... all talk
Personally, I think it's great if Adrian has found a way, while complying with the tests, to achieve this. We all want innovation, and when someone achieves it, too many whingers complain.
Anyway, have a look at the distance from the centre of the font wing to the tarmac and the same distance at the end-plates, they seem to be almost touching the surface:-

Ah! long forgotten images. i think some people mis-valued how different the last 4 races have been. So it was easy so assume RBs wings had changed because of the tests rather than the actual track/package conditions.

That's a really good pic of the front wing working its magic.
i think it should go on the Flexi-wing thread as well...

Silver paint? I'm predicting this will happen to a red car again :hehe:

That appears to be a popular parking spot. It's exactly where Hamilton pulled up today! Freaky!

Is this the hirsute solutions and Japanese GP thread now?

Tech Talk: Suzuka’s crucial curves

This weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix will be crucial for Ferrari with Red Bull expected to reign supreme - but can the new title contenders avoid losing out in Suzuka’s challenging curves?
.
.
.
Times have certainly changed since those earlier races, and Ferrari have promised further upgrades as the title battle heats up. But they still need to prove they have a handle on this kind of section too if they are to stop Red Bull pulling away again in the title race.

Rain seems to turn Alonso into Sato and I think Massa's scared of rain, but even so, looking at those practice times I think I'm going to have to hope for rain in qualifying. Maybe Sutil can spring a pleasant surprise at least.

Ohhh!! Remember that race.
Watched it with a group at a friend's house at like 3am our time. A "racing party"... LOL It was pretty loud until that moment.....

But anyway... if "the same" happens: Alonso will inherit the lead after a Massa blowout. Poor Massa. :hehe:

I remember that race very well...was rooting 100% for Schumacher....and Ferrari! :yikes:
