USA's only goal so far in the tournament has come from a mistake, who knows England might be on it against Slovenia!

Serbia beating Germany hasn't helped Australia's cause of advancing to the final 16 again.

By the way, Slovenija versus USA was a great game. Pity it ended in a 2-2 draw when Slovenija was up 2-0. Although Slovenija still has the edge on points. Hopefully it will be England and Slovenija that progress. Boooooooo for the United States.

Poor old USA, just as they nearly equalise several times the Slovenians score another!

This doesn't bode well for England; on paper, England are a much stronger team than Slovenia but could only manage a 1 - 1 draw with the Americans, that'd be an upset if both the USA and England get knocked out of this group. And given the way this world cup has gone anything is possible; I didn't foresee the Swiss beating Spain and Serbia beating Germany. I really hope that England can beat Algeria later today, I would say it was a forgone conclusion but in this world cup; I take nothing for granted!

Yes I hope that England win as well against Argelia. Then that wy Argelia would want to win one game or even draw a game just to get a point. And that would be against the USA which would mean of that happens, Slovenija will be through even if they lose to the might of England.

England have been p*ss poor frankly, giving the ball away too easily and couldn't hit a barn door at three feet!!! Very disappointing, to put this in perspective; England are ranked #7 in the world; Algeria are #29; that should be a comfortable win for the Englishmen; but Algeria more than held their own against England!

Nope, I cannot see why the gol was disallowed. But my Slovenian Hertiage tells me not to care. Besides I know Slovenija are not Italy, but I would like for them to pass the group. Please be it Slovenija and England. Besides Slovenija deserve it more than the US. What do the USA know about football anyway. They still offically call it soccer. An insult to the great game. Australia at least now officially has changed to calling it football. Good on Australia.

There is no official football in Australia it changes from state to state,But it's between rugby league and Australian football for naming rights among the populus! You say footy in NSW you mean League if you say Footy in Victoria you mean Aussie Rules, besides why is our team called the Socceroos still if Soccers officially called football now?

prior to around 2005 it was soccer. Now it's football. After the A-league was created it was officially changed to football.soccer federation Australia became football federation Australia. This is all factual so I don't know why you must always argue it. I lived in Australia for 4 years and at all A-league games it was always football and never soccer. I also had gone to Australia games anit was always football. The reason why the national team are called the socceroos is because prior to 2005 it was soccer and the nick name has stuck. Besides socceroos rhymes whereas footballroos sounds not so good. Also on SBS who broadcasts most football and the world cup in Australia has never called it soccer and Australian football greats like Craig Foster always call it football. People like you still say soccer because the change in name only happened 5 years ago. The next generation will call it football. You will see it will be the case in 10 or 20 years from now and there is nothing you can do about it. And I hope Australia does get the world cup in 2022. By then mos of the new generation would be calling it football and the world cup will further boost football in Australia.

the only way soccer will be called football by the majority is if it becomes the major football code. Right now and the forceable future Aussie Rules is the most watched and has the most participants in the country! Even top NRL players are switching codes it's where the big bucks are! Two new teams emerging one on the gold coast another in western Sydney, both rugby mad areas! So I don't see your average household calling soccer football anytime soon this gen or the next!

according to some of my Australian friends, the F in AFL stands for "faggot" haha also I never recalled Craig Foster being a migrant or a son or a migrant. Nether was the now deceased Johnny Warren. Just look at the names. English/Aussie names. So I don't buy your migrant stuff and also who cares about country backward towns. Anyway this thread is about the footie world cup.
