There's an outside chance but it's unlikely unless two of the top four drivers, Red Bull and McLaren duos end up in the wall of champions, so that's JB and LH screwed then
Schumacher is one of the top drivers just not in the top two teams at the moment.
Is he though? Is he really the Michael Schumacher of old? With the exception of the cheeky pass on Alonso a few races back, he doesn't seem like the Michael of old IMO!
Don't blame his subpar (less than expected which wasto begin with) finishing order and/or performance on him, blame it on the car and his 3yr hiatus, and yes it does matter. There are and have been numerous drivers quite older than him that have achieved great success when they were dismissed as being to old.

I never said he was too old or anything to that effect but so far he hasn't been quite upto the standard he was when he was racing regularly. Yes he will be "rusty" and it will take time to get back to his best (if he can) but at this point I believe the mercedes doesn't have the raw pace to compete with McLaren/Red Bull and he still needs to shake off some of that "rust", free practice times really mean nothing at all so I am going to ignore that, let's see where he is after qualifying.
Did anyone else notice that McLaren wasn't the fastest car in the speed trap? They team is running extra wing on the cars to try and cope with the car's problems in slow speed corners.
However, with the speed advantage of the F-duct, it appears that the team can afford to go down this route.
If we have rain such a set up may also prove to be beneficial?
Im watching live practise and its wierd how many are so far off the pace. So what does all this mean? huge gaps between the drivers when its been close before. Tyres. But what does tha mean for the race?
I'm thinking its because its not such an easy car to get the set up right and the track changes a lot during the session and weekend. Also, there's some good room for errors at some crucial curve braking/exit, and a driver can get a good time improvement by getting scary-close to the walls.... pretty much: a driver's track. with changing track conditions.
EDIT: Hmmm that ^ should have gone in the CANADA GP thread...
EDIT RACECHICK: Oh yeah! I'll shift it.
MS has derived no joy from Montreal since HHF quit. Is there anyone else whos girlfriend he married and running in the midfield that he can push off on the way out of the pits?
