Good day for McLaren :D

Showing good pace over 1 lap and still looking good on the longer runs. Jenson was pretty mighty on the damp track - but then, he always is.

Did you by-pass my post....He had a major advantage and all the sites have said it. Dry and light? I think Force India could have done the same....It's Schumi who you should worry about!!!!

Tex you can smile....right....Now ;)

I had already read those quotes (Believe it or not, I follow the sport quite closely and I don't need you to tell me what's happening), I think perhaps you are the one who's made a mistake. You seem to be working under the assumption you've unearthed some damning evidence that JB was running on fumes and everyone else had full tanks. All you have is the fact McLaren were focusing a bit more on short runs. Furthermore, I (Contrary to what you may think) am not basing my assessment purely on times because I am not, you see, an idiot.

Fact, they had a full tank and were running in the rain.
JB low run with dry track, the only 2 two to get it. You got the top spot, fine. But it won't be that come Tomorrow!

It will be Red Bull & Ferrari.....

You seem fond of ignoring what people say and responding instead to an easier argument. Let me repeat for you:

My assessment is not based purely on the times because I am not stupid. Times in Free Practice are tantamount to meaningless - ALWAYS. Not just here today.

Fact, Jenson was rapid in the damp after the rain started in FP2 (Didn't see Lewis's times or car much at that point, but he was also rapid later on on the damp track) and also later on on the damp track. Fact, Jenson and Lewis were right on the pace straight away. Fact, Jenson and Lewis are positive about the car and the setup and were from very early on. Fact, the McLaren is visibly very committed to the circuit and is riding the bumps well.

That is what I'm basing my assessment on.

P1?

Lewis was down, JB 3rd. Which is not that bad for JB. I must admit mate

But as i said practice really means nothing, and it doesn't the amount of times Nico has been uno. And then Qually he was shocking. So I'm just saying that in Bahrain i saw Ferrari adn they were shocking to my expectations. But i guess there is a little tad bit of jealously due to the fact my team has done....Quit bad.... So i am hopeful it is show boating, but the team is Red Bull and the man to beat is Schumi it seems.....

Which i think we can both agree is pretty :bs:

Yeah, but I never disputed that Practice is meaningless. I've been saying that for a long time. And like you say, Nico at Williams is Exhibit A. Every Grand Prix he'd try and win the race on Friday.

I wouldn't say Ferrari did bad, they just didn't send the cars out for the dry window in FP 2 & they had some traffic problems. In FP 1 Massa was on Button's pace at one point and Alonso outdid Hamilton, so they can't be in tremendously bad shape. They look fine.

Red Bull are obviously the team to beat, we knew that coming in. Not sure where everyone is getting these ideas about Schumi though, he looks quick, but not that quick.

And yet, whilst you may think it...No.

Maybe on a good run, but the Mercedes does seem to have a few problems....There's something there that does not stick together like the formula Ferrari, RBR & McLaren have... So it is concerning, but i can see Michael being 3rd best.....But i can see it being a amazing Ferrari vs McLaren fight. With Lewis V Alonso & Massa V JB. Which i would find pretty interesting, but Massa? I think he will be 4th or 5th in qually. It will be very interesting, shame i will miss it due to stock stake @ work :banghead:

Don't ask me why but I don't really have high hopes for Williams this weekend, it's early days but I would like to be proven wrong.

I sure hope so, I need some points in the fantasy championship for Cossie and the Hulk

That sounds like an 80s Cop Show
