kimi won't cause any rifts, he'll just get in and drive.

Agree, although it will be almost as interesting a pairing to watch as Alonso and Massa, almost.

Almost? Strongly disagree. I love the guy but no way is Massa a truly exciting driver... I feel a poll might be worthwhile here! :scratchchin:

I don't think you quite got my point. While I think anything between Hamilton and Kimi will be kept to the track I have a feeling Massa could wind up Alonso nearly as much as Hamilton did.

Yep. Hissy fit time when Massa beats him. I remember him getting arsey when massa defended his position from him. He mouthed off at him after the race and they werent even in the same team then.

I remember that. That was at the European GP in 07 right? I dont get how Alonso and Massa are gonna handle each other at Ferrari next year, thats like a marriage made in hell.

If I were Ferarri and I was forced by the universe to dump one driver, I would dump Massa. Kimi is more of a charger and statistically delivers more than Massa. Then there's the injury factor. For all we know Massa will never be the same and can't deliver wins. How would Luca D feel if he made the decision to dump Kimi and then find out Massa can't do it? They'd have to start all over. Well, having Alonso is a good start.

Yes, but you;re not ferrarri. and everydody loves massa now. He's the cutie, no result dude. So what can you do, smile to luca or alonso?

On second thought if I were Ferarri I wouldn't bother with motor racing at all. I would just have umpalumpa all day.

I'm just watching the BBC F1 forum (I had a stupid hairdressers appointment when it was on) and it's so obvious that Kimi is going to McLaren, Martin Whitmarsh just sits there smiling and silent when asked about it. :hehe:

Kinda justified though, if i remember rightly Massa whacked him when he tried to get past! We all know he learnt a lot from Schumacher... If they fall out next season that's all good with me, makes things slightly easier for Raikkonen.

I dont see why ferrari just keep the guy as reserve driver.

Kimi? As a reserve driver? He's one of the best on the grid.

thats not the point. it will save ferrari from having to pay him out for next year. at least they will have a good driver standing by should they need one .... no?

I doubt that Kimi is contracted as a reserve driver.

IF you actually read the news stories it is quite clear for anyone to see that Santander and not Ferrari are going to pay out Kimi's contract.

yer especially as he is actually faster than both Alonso and Massa. Ferrari wanted more commitment from Kimi than they were willing to give him so I'm not that surprised that the relationship has come to an end early.

I guess it makes sense to keep Kimi as a reserve driver so there is less competition, but he wont be
