Ahoy, Piquet crossed Fla'io and in the end he could do more. Sadly he wasn't up t' parr. I wonder if Grosjean will be any better? Probably not seein' as he will be thrown in at the deepend. And I mean the deepend, especially as Renault tra'el t' 'alencia with no guarantees that they'll race, gar!

And a prima dona driver alongside him.

Shame on you Briatore and shame on you Alonso. Piquet may not have cut it in F1 but he never had a fair chance at it. Look forward to his book to see just how much they screwed him.

Meh, Flavio never makes it easy for the drivers who aren't his favourites. Heikki still performed reasonably

Im only guessing here but I imagine he insisted on far superior terms than Piquet to avoid the possibility of another trouncing by a rookie.

Well let's see, they have equal cars, equal engines, the only term that could give Alonso an advantage is one that tells Piquet to move over. Well that never happened to come up LOL.
Each driver has a race team, and they set up the car according to the driver's input. If Piquet is complaining the car isn't right for him it's his responsibility to make it so. I guess he couldn't dso that.
If they don't get equal treatment off the track like if Flav is all nice and lovey to Fernando and ignores Piquet, that might cause Piquet to feel poorly in the stomach but if he lets that affect his performance that's his failing. Even if Fernando's conract says he gets a nice tablecloth and a pretty waitress for every meal and a bigger motorhome and a hummer before every race and that Piquet has to eat under the table and has to pee in a can behind the dumpster, it's his job not to let it affect his performance.

At first when Piquet came in F1 I vaguley remember speculation "would he do a Hamilton" and get on Alonso's nerves.

No.

On the other hand, only the "rookie"/"double world champion" roles were the same. The "Favourite" and the "Red-Headed Stepchild" roles were swapped. At McLaren, Alonso was not the favourite.
