True say my friend. I think it is a good idea, I'm for it as you read above. I think it would look jazzy on Jenson's Helmet!

Actually it would take away it's power from McLaren which would hurt their sponsorsTo be honest with you all. F1 is not history, it is all business. It's all based on money, when McLaren win? Vodafone win. F1 is based on millions of millions of millions of dollars. Drivers or teams can't get anywhere in the racing world without funding or sponsorship. Fact. This is a business matter for Mercedes were if they see brawn outpacing McLaren they will want to put more money into them, put the badge on so that the F1 fans knows it Mercedes car? It won't make a difference but it's money to them in the end. In the end we all Mercedes will put their star on both the teams car? Then McLaren next season will most probably out pace them and Mercedes will feel like twats. With Ferrari out the way? Hamilton will be the Next Graham Hill.
Wy would they feel like Twats? It's not like putting the Mercedes badge on the Brawn takes it off the McLaren

Of you're a marketing guru are you?
IF Mclaren was just called Mercedes F1 team it would be very easy to label the brawn or Force india but Its not and isn't
I don't see it hurting McLaren that much "if" McLaren can pick up their performance level. If they keep struggling then it will hurt sponsorship deals for sure.

exactly! if they struggle shouldnt be in the equation. do you see the same thing for say Toyota and Williams or Redbull and Renault?

I haven't really read this through, so forgive me if I have the wrong end of the stick. But is this argument over whether or not it is justified for Mercedes to place their logos on the Brawn cars?
as i have said what is there to differentiate to the average joe that McLaren Mercedes is a works team when on the tv it says Brawn Mercedes and then they have the branding as well?
and how that will affect the works teams sponsors?!
Well in my opinion there isn't anything wrong with Mercedes choosing to do so, I mean look at Red Bull and Renault.
What if they rebranded the Mercedes Engine in the Brawn? Like when Sauber used the Petronas engines?
Thank God the Brawn guys saved our bacon again with our engine in the back. Congratulations Jenson, Rubens, Ross and the whole team, you guys have been the benchmark since the season started
F1live:
Given Brawn's dominance and McLaren's struggles, Mercedes-Benz is considering adding corporate branding to the championship-leading BGP 001.
Brawn GP's use of the Stuttgart marque's engines this year is simply a customer deal, but the package has won four out of the five races so far this season, and is leading the drivers' and constructors' championships.
A three-pointed star was not in Mercedes' original plans for the Brawn linkup, but Norbert Haug said after the Spanish Grand Prix that the scenario is now being ‘considered’.
"We have possibilities and options and it has been offered to us," Mercedes' competition boss, is quoted as saying by the broadcaster RTL.
However, the 56-year-old added that Mercedes does not want to ‘divert’ from its works relationship with McLaren, winner of the 2008 drivers' title with Lewis Hamilton.
The grass is greener on Brawn's lawn, ain't that the truth?

No big surprise. If it will sell more cars, then they will do it. No brainer
