To be honest with you all. F1 is not history, it is all business. It's all based on money, when McLaren win? Vodafone win. F1 is based on millions of millions of millions of dollars. Drivers or teams can't get anywhere in the racing world without funding or sponsorship. Fact. This is a business matter for Mercedes were if they see brawn outpacing McLaren they will want to put more money into them, put the badge on so that the F1 fans knows it Mercedes car? It won't make a difference but it's money to them in the end. In the end we all Mercedes will put their star on both the teams car? Then McLaren next season will most probably out pace them and Mercedes will feel like twats. With Ferrari out the way? Hamilton will be the Next Graham Hill.

Wy would they feel like Twats? It's not like putting the Mercedes badge on the Brawn takes it off the McLaren

I don't see it hurting McLaren that much "if" McLaren can pick up their performance level. If they keep struggling then it will hurt sponsorship deals for sure.

I haven't really read this through, so forgive me if I have the wrong end of the stick. But is this argument over whether or not it is justified for Mercedes to place their logos on the Brawn cars?

Ya absolutely. It looks terrible for a works team when a private team with their engine is beating them. Could you imagine Toro Rosso beating Ferrari?

Yes the conversation has shifted to sponsorship issues if the Mercedes Badge gets placed on the Brawn GP car.

Well in my opinion there isn't anything wrong with Mercedes choosing to do so, I mean look at Red Bull and Renault.

What if they rebranded the Mercedes Engine in the Brawn? Like when Sauber used the Petronas engines?

I think Norbert Haug fancies a Mercedes name on that Brawn though, judging by his comments after Spain.

Thank God the Brawn guys saved our bacon again with our engine in the back. Congratulations Jenson, Rubens, Ross and the whole team, you guys have been the benchmark since the season started

This is not like Renault either for the reason above.

Renaualt Make the engines and the car

But in VMM Merc make the engines , Mclaren make the car.

The only car to wear the merc badge is the Mclaren it should not be put on the Brawn car.
