I was once told that the internet was 5% *censored*, I was amazed, just think there is another 95% to explore.

Just 5%? Must be way more if we had a look at MOA's bookmarks and browsing history :P

No history or bookmarks; all the URL's are committed to memory and I always use Private Browsing on Firefox... not like I want to broadcast my habit is it?

Is flash anything to do with photo bucket? Cos I don't seem to have the upload button now :( even though I've downloaded an app.

No, flash is only to create content (mainly videos) on browsers. If there's an "app" for something then it's been tested and should fully work.

Not quite correct; a lot of photo sites use a Flash powered uploader... but if there is an app, then you'd assume it'd work... but any software is only as good as the person who programmed it!

I've never had problems with flash, most sites have Apple friendly sites its too big of an audience to ignore for web developers. The sites with flash usually have an app to use anyway.

Race chick are you talking about photo bucket app or website? Pretty sure you can't upload via the website.

Ok. I have an account with photo bucket. I've figured out how to upload the pics but once the photos are in there I cant resize them. I've downloaded photo bucket app , I can sometimes get a layout similar to the one I see from my PC, but when I press resize I get a message saying I need flash. When I press to install it says flash is not supported but I got adobe pro( (I think it was called) . I also got another editing app with lots of options to mess with the picture but no resize option. So does anyone know if there is an app or any other way of resizing pics on thee iPad? I want to make them an acceptable size for an avatar or signature.
Guys thanks for your help, appreciated :)

The other editing apps I've got are 'photo lab ' and 'photo shop express'. Both really easy to use and access my pics on the iPad, but no resizing option unless I'm being particularly dumb.....a possibility!

I'm assuming that Adobe Pro refers to Adobe Reader, not Flash; there is no Flash support on the iPad since the spat that Adobe and Apple had a few years back!.

Photoshop Express does not natively allow for resizing of images, which is a shame given the pedigree of the Photoshop brand; apparently PhotoGene is the software to have on the iPad!

I've just downloaded that app. It looks neat and talks about resizing pics when you send them somewhere. I'ii have a play around. It's mot obvious like photo bucket is on the PC. How do you make your pictures get small enough to fit in avatars ?

My new tablet should be here Monday, it's the Microsoft Windows 8 RT Surface 64GB with Type and Touch Covers.

I'll let you all know how it fairs up compared to my old tablet (ASUS Transformer Prime TF201)

Any recommendations for one around £160 tops? The missus is after one.

on the cheap buy her an Amazon Kindle Fire HD. 7 inches. Since, well she may not be able to handle 8.9 inches. I mean the price of the 8.9 inches.

Depends on the size. If she's happy with 7" (to be honest anything else is just greedy :hehe: ) then the Google Nexus 7 is a top choice for Android (unless you want expandable storage without fiddling with USB-OTG and card readers), otherwise this Sumvision one might be worth a look. Been researching one for my step-dad and this seems to be the best one for his budget.

Yeah, i think Google Nexus and Amazon Kindle (she already has the book one) were two names mentioned. I have no idea what tech specs. TBH she didn't go into that much detail (cause she's not a tech geek like us lot! :P ) and i know jack about tablets and stuff, i never use or need to use em. I think the budget can be stretched a bit, if there is something good in the Jan sales.
