Well, another magic lap from Vettel just when it counted most! Well done that man. I'm hoping McLaren can really push him hard tomorrow.

OH! And how did I know that everyone would blame McLaren for Lewis not getting a second lap in???

Ridiculous, it was FAR from McLaren's fault. It was Lewis' mistake. And he's even admitted it himself.

Lewis Hamilton said he was to blame for the error that cost him the chance to fight Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel for pole at the Japanese Grand Prix.

The McLaren driver did not leave enough time to start a second fastest lap.

"It was my mistake," he said. "I should have got out sooner but I was making a wing change and I went out too late."

Does anybody else feels Senna is doing bloody good? he looked much better than Heidfeld on his 1st race/Q and right now is showing really good promise.

So guys... i saw him first :hehe::hehe::hehe: Watch out for Senna

Vettel... well that bugger is one of the best Qers i've seen in the last 3-4 yrs or so. Lewis is really good at Q, but Vettel is darned close to the perfect Q'er.

Claiming him huh? Hope he ends up at McLaren for you :p

LOL a bit late isn't it? hehe

Anyways... i wouldnt mind him in a Mclaren. In fact, after the past 2 yr's of RB washout, i think good competition is the best. I'd much rather the championship going to the last race or two, with any team/driver capable of winning it.

Keen to see how well Jenson handles himself tomorrow. The guy starting in 3rd has overtaken him around 5 times this year on track.

I have a good feeling about tomorrow. Don't ask me why, I smell another Lewis show coming up. Same signals like Nurburgring.

I didn't :D I waited to hear the reason Schumacher ended up in front of Hamilton on track before making remarks about fault!

I do worry about Jenson tomorrow afternoon; he has reasonably good starts but is generally slower in the first stint and picks up the pace later on, which seems to be a solid strategy for a podium finish but not really the win, so Jenson could get overtaken by Lewis, we all know that Lewis is lightning quick in the first stint, guess it all comes down to how happy Jenson is with the car.

Aye, me too  It's unfortunately the case these days that McLaren have a reputation of a team which makes balls-ups, and people are way too hasty to point the finger in their direction. Today's qualifying was a classic example.

However, other teams make mistakes as well, all the time. It's racing. It happens. People always seem to recall McLaren's mistakes..... it seems such a huge pedigree of success makes one's mistakes stand out that bit more :hehe::wink:

If you think about it all Vettel would have to do is take Jenson out at the first corner and he would secure the title. Do you guys think if something like that did happen that the FIA would do anything to affect the result of the championship?

Oh there'd be an uproar sure enough. :hehe:

Not sure Vettel would do that though, he's isn't rough, devious or ragged enough to do so with intent. And it's not the final race of the season, so things aren't that desperate.

...I've said the same thing about qualifying an tires pretty much since the second of third race. It's killing the thrill of qualifying and the added strategy to the Sunday race is minimal given the dominance of the lead teams....

The whole disintegrating tyres scheme was not a very well constructed plot, was it? At least they managed to fend off Bernie's "water sprinklers to be switched on at irregular intervals" fix.

Which further demonstrates the folly of the FIA's absurdly stringent constructor's rules, which have stifled creativity and dramatically narrowed the performance differential between cars. So then they have to invent more rules from whole cloth in an effort to manufacture the same levels competition they have only just regulated out of existence. Except the invented rules always have unintended consequences, such as teams giving Q3 amiss to preserve tyres for the show.

The natural evolution of a motor sport is a marvel to behold, but this, ...this is just the Island of Dr. Moreau on wheels.

Or Button could swipe Vettel to keep his championship hopes alive if you are going to play this card.

Besides, Vettel's keen on records. He'll want the win an keep going for the most wins in a season.
