All four wheels have to be over the white line for it to be illegal and you have to be deemed to have gained an advantage.

Looking at the qualifying for Turkey,Vettel seems to have clinched pole by driving well over the kerbs ,effectively shortening the track. I thought this was against the rules of F1 :nono: ? To me this is cheating, although other World Champs have used the same tactics before. Now that Michael Schumacher is no longer allowed to get away with some of his more blatant cheating,he is not so fast anymore is he :beans: ! Brings in to serious question the real value of his Championships and what his real talents actually are, in my mind, anyway :wobble: .

now that's a good one for a 1st post...... you're smashing two drivers:
1 for riding the kerbs
And the other for "blatant cheating"

I think i could guess your favourite F1 driver with a 99.9% certainty...

Absolutely nothing wrong with Vettels lap, as long as at least two wheels are kept in between the white lines at each side of the track all is ok.

LOL
is there ANY doubt? :hehe:

So back on topic.... Showing up with limited testing.... blasting a super fast time on a single go.... then take his gloves off and watch the others  scratch their heads.

That's Vettel!!
:censored: him :)

Yeah, that was impressive, cheeky and demoralizing for the rest of the field. And I'd include MW here who had a much smaller cushion, but still was gutsy enough to have a magnum and coke Kimi style while the rest was sweating and trying hard.

Interesting that a new member with the handle "Rommel" is bashing two Germans. Irony, maybe?

But away from that topic before we step into accusations of racism, Vettel just did what Vettel's good at - one-off poles. If those poles mean shortening the track legally then I only have praise for his skill. Schumacher was a puzzle, though. Practice is not often a good pointer to qualy or race pace but he and the Merc did seem to be on it. Rosberg proved that Mercedes are making progress but Schumi just couldn't hook it up when it counted.

I have to take you to task for your disparaging comments on Schumacher's legacy, though. Like him or loathe him, he won most of his races through sheer talent and you can't take that away from him. He may not be what he was but you can't use that as proof that he never had it.

Your post is wrong on pretty much every point you attempted to make. Congrats on reaching the pinnacle of poorly thought out first posts. Curbs are illegal eh? For the love of god....

Thank goodness there was plenty of room left on my "ignore" list.

So every driver in f1 ever is a cheater for riding kerbs? I'm going to have to rethink everything now thanks for opening my eyes :banghead::banghead:

You picked it up ;)

After a couple of anti-flu/cold pills and a recovery nap.... the "light' came to me and i've reached the unequivocal conclusion that Rommel is just a computer saavy young kid who fooled the anti-spam control system at Forumula1.com with his 2nd account.

However, my point about his favourite driver still stands :)
